Keeping safe – Families

The only people who can see your full profile are au pairs or nannies who have registered. To protect your privacy, NO-ONE can see your contact details. This includes au pairs, nannies, unregistered visitors, and Google and the other search engines.

This site is intended to be family-friendly. However, registration is automatic and we cannot personally review each profile that is added, due to the numbers of profiles involved. If you ever see inappropriate content or contact details on a profile please contact us.

Naturally, membership of this site is at our absolute discretion and we may take whatever actions we deem appropriate following any emails from families about any of the above.

What you need to look out for – how to spot a scammer?

 If the answer is “yes” to some of these questions, then the au pair or nanny might not be genuine:

• Asking you to send money?  NEVER SEND MONEY FOR ANY REASON. Not even for travel cost, travel documents visa etc.
• Asking for strange or unusually detailed information about you, Want your ID number etc or other personal document?  DO NOT SEND these. Genuine au pairs or nannies do not need these.
• Offer you to commit before asking you lots of questions and before he/she knows much about you?
• Fail to send many photos or the pictures are strange?
• Did you receive an email that appears to be from another au pair agency telling you that an au pair or nanny is interested in you and asking you to pay a fee? DO NOT REPLY!
• Received an email pretending to come from us but directing you to another website to put your details in or telling you to contact a ‘verified’ au pairs / nannies by email? Never do this. We don’t send out such emails.
• An au pair’s or nanny’s first contact comes directly, without adding you to their favourites and not through our website? Immediately ask for the membership number. If they say they have deleted their profile for any reason, they are scammers who we have already deleted! Do not answer them.

If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t. Use your instincts and find out more if you’re unsure, until you satisfy yourself about the member you’re interested in.
