My name is Frida, I'm a 19 years old italian girl. I'm currently taking a gap year, during which I aspire to learn and experience as much as possible. My life right now is divided between preparing the admission test needed to enter the university I want to attend next year, volountering, babysitting and travelling.
I think being an au-pair could enrich me incredibly from a cultural, linguistic and social point of view, overall I think it could help me be a better version of myself.
I've always loved to take care of children.
I've taken care of my cousins since I was very young, then I started babysitting and tutoring.
Last year I babysitted a little girl, Carolina, who had just started elementary school. We would see each other every thursday for 3 hours. We played all kinds of games and when she would get bored I would invent new activities; when she had them, we did her homework; when it was time, I prepared her snack. We also spent a lot of time outside, especially playing with my dog.
I'm taking care of Carolina this year too, but we see each other 3 days a week for 3 hours at the time.
Federico, on the other had, is a kid from middle school who I tutor every Saturday morning and in our lessons we go through all the subjcets that he has.
During highschool I've tutored middle school and elementary school kids also for a volunteering experience at an afterschool center from my town, which helped kids with diffult family and social situations doing their homework.
At last I've volunteered for three years at a summer camp organised by one of the churches in my town. We took care of kids and organised games from 8:30 in the morning, till 16:30 in the afternoon and we also took turns to look after them during lunch.
I've had fun doing every single one of this activities, it was never boring, stressing or overwhelming, because when I spend with children I always feel in the right place!
