I am Yarith Estefany Sarmiento González, I am 25 years old. I am from Pasca, Colombia. I live in Pasca with my parents and my sister. I work in an elementary school. I am an English teacher for children. I am part of a community in which I prepare myself to be an au pair, I participate in workshops of psycho-pedagogy, neuro-education and pedagogy. I love children, I enjoy sharing time with them, I look for ways to be their friend, I learn daily from them and that makes me a better person. I am responsible, cheerful, pleasant, very patient, empathetic, respectful, I like to make people feel that they are important in my life and that they can count on me, I am dedicated in all areas and professional. In my day to day I am organized, decisive, active, motivated to learn something new and dynamic. I like to spend quality time with my family, friends and also with my pets. By the way, I love animals. I enjoy going on trips, learning every day about myself and my good and not so good experiences that gives birth to ideas to help others to be better and share things with children to lead them through a full and safe life.
My mom's name is Herminda Gonzalez, she's a housewife, and she's cheerful, kind and very loving. My dad's name is Jose Sarmiento, he's a farmer, he's hardworking and responsible and my sister is Vanessa, the youngest, she's in the University, She's shy, sympathetic and with a lot of character. We have three pets, a female dog, her name is Honey, a male dog, his name´s Lucky and a female cat, her name is Morita.
I studied high school in a pedagogical school, that's why I love education, I graduated at the age of 16. After graduating from high school, I studied a technical degree as a preschool assistant and at the same time I studied English in an academy, which I finished at the age of 18. For economic reasons I did not continue in college, I only worked and saved for the Au Pair experience in the USA, but when I came back from there I decided to work and study. Now I am studying at the university a degree in foreign languages with emphasis in English in a virtual way. I also take a course first aid, child pedagogy and psychology. When I was 15 years old I took a basic drawing and music course, focusing on vocal technique and singing.
In my free time I listening to music, singing, drawing, dancing, sharing time with my family and friends, playing soccer, playing with children and acting. In addition, I am a person who wants to do many things; I like to discover new things: people, places and cultures. I like travelling, I believe that it´s a good way to meet new people. I enjoy dancing, mostly Latin or trending music. I like reading and doing crafts in my free time. Usually I play sports and I like visiting places full of nature. I'm good with arts and crafts, helping others with homework, cooking, caring for children, and teaching other different things.
My experience with children started when I was 8 years, because I took care of my cousins and my sister when they were babies; I showered them, made their bottles, made meals, fed them with a bottle and spoon, changed diapers and put them to nap. When I was studying technical degree as a preschool assistant. I did my practices in an elementary school with children from 4 to 6 years old. My first an current job is with kids in an English academy as an English kids teacher with children from 4 to 12 years old; I love teaching and tutoring, helping with homework, dealing with tantrums, practicing sports with them, playing games, we do activities in class according to topics and ages, we make arts and crafts. I like to be dynamic and ludic. Another work was in a kindergarten with kids from 2 to 6 years; I changed diapers, feed them with bottle and spoon/fork, gave baths to them, I taught them songs, activities according to their ages and different topics, helped with homework, played with them sports and games, arts and crafts, dealt with tantrums. I also worked in two elementary schools, I taught English to children from 5 to 10 years old; I taught or did tutoring about different topics about English; songs, games, dynamics, ludic, helped with their homework, arts and crafts, I played with them, showered them and dealt with their tantrums. I was Au Pair in USA in 2019-2020, I lived with a South African family, and I took care two boys, the big boy with 3 years old and the baby with 1 year.
The reason I decided to travel is for the pleasure of helping others and for the adventures that come with a new country and a new family environment; which I value very much. I am very excited about this opportunity; I know that living with your children and you, in a different country, is a wonderful opportunity. I am willing to do different activities with them, to go for walks, to play, to teach them, to help them and to share some of my knowledge and my culture, to take care of them, to learn from them, to share with a host family and to be part of it, especially because I am very interested in being a support for you, to help you in your daily and academic tasks, also to teach you my culture, my language and everything that this exchange entails, I know it will be very interesting and fun to reach another level of adventures.
My native language is Spanish and English became my second language. I learned it from school, there I fell in love with the language and sometime later in a language academy I acquired a B2, but it has been a long time and I think that my level needs an improvement, I feel that it is an A2 almost B1.
I want to learn about your culture. I love the meet new countries, I'll improve my lifestyle and my language, I'll learn something new, I'll travel, I'll work, and I'll study, and I'll grow as a person and I'll be an example for the society. I will increase my personal background and I´ll learn a lot. Likewise, I'd love to become a part of your family.
