I think the candidate should hire me because I present with an enthusiastic and friendly personality. I am mature, fun, responsible, punctual, intuitive, intelligent, orderly and task orientated. I don't do wild. I'm slightly more introverted and shy as a person rather than extroverted or risky. I like quiet environments for the most part. However, I'm flexible to work demands too. If the moment calls for something different, all good, let's do that.
About me personally.... I love doing school type activities, particularly: reading, writing, math, nature and outdoor studies, art/crafts and paperwork. I actually have more than 25 years of experience doing 'school' with academic abilities ranging from the clinically and learning delayed to the exceptionally bright. I have experience with the programming of materials and moderator visits. One of my greatest joys has been the teaching of how to read and write; I'm hugely big on phonics. Additionally, I've tried all sorts of educational philosophies over the years from the Classical to Ambleside Online ( literature based ), both Christian and non-religious, Charlotte Mason to the traditional public school style and their materials. As a side note: I have a number of years using Classical Education, therefore I am also able to follow teacher manuals for elementary Latin and Greek. I also use a classical method for teaching writing - outlining, and a simplified version for Grades 1 - 4. Literature and good books are also a high priority. A love of reading can be encouraged by simply taking the time to read to a child. Alternatively, I am awesome at just following a program that's already set and just needs delivery. That's what I do these days in a government school. I just support the current program. I always have the BEST fun entirely in the primary grades because it is filled with lots of hands on fun ( nature, art/crafts, cooking ) and new discovery ( awareness of the physical world and measurable academic progress ) for the student.
I have been to South Korea twice previously in addition to other places.
I am healthy, a non-smoker and have full mobility. I also enjoy learning new things and taking on challenges. I enjoy walking and nature.
For nearly all of my working years I regularly supplemented curriculum by writing or making additional curriculum to cater to specific needs or current fun projects. I'd be happy to take the children ( or the elderly ) on excursions or shopping. Quite happy to do general houseworking tasks and cooking as well. I am a particularly tidy and orderly person.
Some additional information: I was also previously employed as an apprenticed aged care giver for a short while before going to Korea. I worked in an aged care facility completing the daily living needs of the elderly people who live there. This required the ability to listen to my clients and work with them in a respectful and caring manner. I was required to help them out of bed, toilet, shower, dress, feed and meet general needs as they arose throughout the day.
I thoroughly enjoy working with children and have done so my entire adult life. Additionally, I want to be able to learn more of the Korean language and culture so I think that by combining these two things I can be of benefit to others while enjoying my life too.
Lastly, I have thoroughly and altogether enjoyed my educational and varied career but I look forward to sharing my knowledge and abilities with others in the future.
Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
