I am a very friendly person, I like that they know about me, I want to share my culture and traditions of Mexico especially from the state of Chiapas which is where I live, show them photos and videos of the wonderful place.
I want to participate in the Au pair program because it will be a wonderful experience to be part of an American family, to be a friend, an older brother for the children, my main objective is to teach the children self-confidence, high self-esteem, and self-discipline.
Dear host family, I hope you are very well, my name is Gerardo Samuel Díaz Hernández, I am 26 years old, I am from Mexico, I live in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.
I am very excited to participate in the Au pair program, I am sure it will be an incredible experience for me and the host family to receive me and share our culture, I want to help in taking care of the children, be a brother and friend for them, that feel confident and supported in any situation, help them develop their skills through curiosity, study and sport, it is important that they learn to achieve all goals with effort and dedication, I want to promote the importance of ethical values, teach them the value of taking on new responsibilities.
I have experience taking care of children, I was a volunteer in a Catholic Church, I was a catechism teacher for 5 years, obtaining approximately 730 hours of experience teaching, I gave catechism classes to children from 7 to 9 years old and 10 to 14 years old, I taught to read the bible and the meaning of the first communion through songs and games for the children when I started studying the university, I moved to the house of my sister Andrea who is married to my brother-in-law Juan, at that time she had only one child 4 years old, after a while my sister got pregnant and had another child, I take care of them with great affection, the names of my nephews are Alan and Fabian, now they are 9 and 2 years old, I have lived with them for 5 years and I have helped take care of them in the afternoons. I have acquired approximately 6000 hours of experience, currently, my sister and I have a family business, I take care of the business in the morning and my sister in the afternoon, my brother-in-law works in the afternoons, so in the afternoon I help him take care of my nephews, I always take care of helping with cleaning, cooking, dropping off and picking up my nephew from school by car, I also like to help him with his homework, I like to playing with my nephews with their toys or dancing so that they exercise, Sometimes we go to the park to run or ride a bike, it is very fun when we spend time as a family, It is important that between the host family and I there is trust and communication to be able to say how we feel and what we want, be honest and respect opinions and decisions always thinking about the care and well-being of children.
I am a creative person with initiative, I like to do different things that can be fun, I like to go to the gym three or four times a week or go out with friends in my free time, I want to achieve new goals in my life, I am proud of what that I have achieved, I finished university, I obtained a degree in business administration, I did an international academic exchange in Spain, I also participated in two summers of scientific and technological research, I also want to travel, I have been in cities of European countries in Spain, France, England, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands and in South America I have been to Colombia, now I want to live this new experience with you, I want to visit important towns and cities in the United States, I know that it is an incredible country full of many wonders to visit, I will be able to practice and develop new English skills, for me, it is important to learn to speak English well Because in the future I want to study a master's degree in the United States or another country, I want to share with you my culture and how important it is to celebrate the festivities in Mexico such as the Day of the Dead, Independence Day, Christmas or New Year, show you photos and videos of wonderful places that Mexico has, my mother has taught me to cook and when I am with you, I will cook typical Mexican food, such as tamales, mole chiapaneco, empanadas, beef barbecue, chicken or beef broth, different types of tacos, such as chicken, chorizo, barbecue, also desserts or typical drinks such as buñuelos, gaznates, Chiapas flakes, Mexican punch or atole, many more foods that are very delicious, I want you to try the different flavors of Mexico, I want to teach you how to make a piñata to break it on some birthday, Christmas or New Year, I like gardening that is why I want to share with you the importance of sowing and growing plants or vegetables and make a small garden at home so that children learn the importance of caring for nature.
My experience in driving is three years, I usually drive almost three or four times a week it all depends on if I need to go shopping, go to drop off or pick up my nephew from school or perform some duty, the car I drive is owned by My brother-in-law, the car I drive is manual, but I also know how to drive an automatic car because my uncle has an automatic car, and sometimes he lends me his car when he asks me for a favor, I have driven during the day and at night, also in rainy and clear climates, I have experience driving with two children who are my nephews, the longest distance I have driven has been 50 km, and during the Au pair program, of course, I would feel comfortable driving my host family's car.
