Dear Host Family,
My name is Aivy Cabayao, 24 years old and I would like to describe myself with this letter. It was always a great dream of mine to live and work in a foreign country and I am excited that it will become reality soon.
I have a big ordinary Filipino family that full of challenges. There are my parents, my eldest sister (26 years old), me and my three brothers (23, 21 and 17 years old). My mother is a housewife and my father is a general mechanic in a company. My three brothers are still schooling.
When we were young, our parents can buy all our needs and wants (toys). But as we grow, our needs become bigger specially when we went to school together. I was 8 years old when I learn how to sell some candies and biscuits just to sustain my provisions in school. Until I stepped into college, selling different kinds like biscuits, shirts, kitchen wares, and etc. using brochure to provide my tuition and other expenses.
When I was 18, I worked as a housemaid during summer to earn my tuition fee for the semester. Doing multitask like cooking, washing clothes, cleaning all around and taking care of a 7 year old girl with ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and a 4 year old boy, only when their father and grandma is not around. The nest year of summer, I worked as a production worker of a tuna processing company, same goal – to pay my tuition fee. Working 10-12hours, day and night shift weekly. Until I graduated and worked one of the malls here in General Santos City.
I didn't really enjoy my childhood and school days because my main goal is to provide my own expenses in school and give some of it to my siblings and mother. I only asked when my money is not enough for the whole day.
This year, I was doing a little business. I thought being independent with a little capital to do business is enough and easy, but it wasn't especially when the pandemic came. And this is my reason why I really want to work in a foreign country. To help my parents, my siblings and my two cousins to finish their school until they work for their own. And also to enjoy the things that I haven't experience in my childhood.
I am at work no matter what just to do my goal in helping others. And wishing to be hired as soon as possible.
