Dear host family,
My name is Lisa Watoya. I am 25yrs old. I come from Mombasa, Kenya. I am normally a easy going, easy to relate to and gentle person. I love having a good laugh with people. I love learning new things and researching, going on short peaceful walks because it gives me a chance to meditate and think deeply, I also love playing board games and watching movies. I like participating in sports occasionally to get my heart beating fast.
I can speak English, Swahili,basic French and open to learning a new language.
I come from a family of four my mother, my father, my brother and I, I am the last born. At the moment I am staying with my aunt and her four children and I'm helping her to take care of them.
I am currently taking a short vocal training course from Imani music school as well.
I want to become an Au pair because I have always wanted to travel to other countries, see what they have to offer and see what the culture is like over there. I also don't mind spending time with children, I love seeing them grow and improve and seeing them develop an understanding nature as they become older.
Being an au pair is the best option for me because I get to be a part of a loving family that is willing to hold my hand and to really see how the people live and how they get along with their everyday lives as I help to make their lives a bit simpler. I want to form a special bond with them, and possibly make life time friends with them.
I would love to be your au pair because I have almost 2 years experience in taking care of children and making sure that their needs are met on time. Spending time with my four cousins; Marcus-10yrs, Asenath - 7 yrs, Lemuel- 5yrs, Jordan-2 yrs has taught me how to be patient and to understand children's behaviours at different stages.
As I am staying with them, I am the one who helps them with their homework, prepares them for school as well as takes them to school (when needed). I help them to organise their clothes, I read books to the youngest ones and explain to them in Swahili what is written in the story book. I serve them their food and feed the youngest one if he wants to be fed. We also do fun stuff together like watch movies and I answer the questions they may have while the movie is playing, we also go shopping together and go for walks together. We play games like hide and seek, ludo, draught.
If you take me in as your au pair I will be taking care of the kids, picking them up and dropping them off to school, helping them to clean their room, helping them to get ready in the morning, preparing them for school according to how you teach me, play games with them and take them to the park.
I can also take care of some house cleaning, I can load the dishwasher and empty it, help with other things that you may need help with. I am trust worthy, reliable and responsible in all things because I value the people who spend a lot of time around me. I also do respect the fact that its your house, so following your house rules won't be an issue for me. I am also pro-active because I am curious and I do love gaining knowledge about how things work. During my stay with you I will be as open and as honest as possible because I believe in communication.
I have the experience required to take care of your child and some house chores because I have been doing this for almost two years. And I am also patient and kind towards children because I understand that they are growing and they need to be taught with patience, love and understanding. I understand that they don't have all the knowledge that we have and they need a chance to learn. I am willing to communicate with you to let you see that I am real .
