I am an au pair currently working in diplomatic family in Oslo and taking care of two girls (1&3 years old). I study musicology and music pedagogy, and have B1 level of Norwegian. I could start our collaboration from April to August, 2020 and willing to stay with you from 3 to 16 months.
Dear Host Family,
My name is Ieva (similar to Eve or Eva), I am Lithuanian undergraduate student of musicology and music education. Currently I am working as an au pair in diplomatic family and taking care of two little girls (1&3 years old) in Oslo, Norway.
I am looking for a friendly and open-minded Norwegian family with children aged between 1 and 16 years old with whom I could gain more parenting and educational skills, and, in addition, improve knowledge of Norwegian language and culture.
I can offer you a friendly, respectful, responsible and creative attitude regarding children‘s care and home-related duties. Also, I am keen to help you with your daily chores. I consider myself as an independent person and skilled at cleaning, cooking, etc.
I am already quite familiar with Norwegian context. In 2016 I spent one student exchange semester at University of Bergen, where I gained basic knowledge of Norwegian language. Also, from September to December, 2018 I completed teaching practice at Den Litauiske skolen i Moss, where I organized and implemented Lithuanian language classes for children from 1,5 to 6 years old and musical classes for children aged between 1,5 and 13 years old. During this practice I also attended continuous contemporary parenting courses, organized by organization "Voksne for Barn". These and current experience gave me the opportunity to get to know Norwegian education system, which, to my opinion, is great! One of my biggest dreams now is to properly learn Norwegian language and continue further studies in Norway.
I could start our collaboration between April and August. I expect to stay with you until August, 2021 and sincerely hope that together we can create many joyful and cheerful moments for your children and ourselves.
My motivation to become an au pair in Norway is based on love for children and aspiration for deeper knowledge of Norwegian language and culture.
The most relevant experience related with home-based childcare lies in current experience of taking care of two girls and my family relations. My older sister has a 5 years old son and I helped her often with his care. I feel blessed with the opportunity to be a part of their lives from the very beginning, to play, learn and explore the world together.
Also, from 2015 to 2017 I have completed practice at LMTA children‘s music school, where I led ear training and music history subjects for children from 7 to 17 years old. Also, as I mentioned earlier, in the last 4 months of 2018 I was granted for a teaching practice at Den Litauiske skolen i Moss. There I practically experienced the joy of work with toddlers and also got a deeper knowledge of Norwegian education paradigms during contemporary parenting courses organized by organization "Voksne for barn".
From personal perspective, people describe me as a very patient, playful and cheerful person. On my free time, I love to take long walks and explore the nature, listen to music, go to cultural events, visit art galleries, read books of different genres, make handmade decorations, etc. Also, I am fond of bicycling, fishing and other outdoor activities.
After being an aur pair I would like to continue further studies in Norway.
