Introduction of the au pair / nanny:

My warm and outgoing personality, combined with the enjoyment I get from working with children of all ages, equips me with a range of key skills that suit this position. I consider myself to be a loyal, hardworking and fun individual; an all-round team player when it comes to collaborative tasks, with a willingness to learn, always striving to be competent and effective at whatever I do.

I have been babysitting regularly for my Aunt since I was 14. She has 3 children who are now aged 5, 8 and 11. I am responsible for picking them up from school, providing after school activities, making dinner and doing the bedtime routine on days where my Aunt is working all day. I also regularly babysit at weekends including day and evenings. I thoroughly enjoy looking after the children and having fun with them. Some days are challenging with them, as they press your buttons, but I believe I am able to deal with this by remaining patient and calm with them. I have good organisational skills and am able to think on my feet. I also help the children complete their homework, reading with them and doing mathematical questions and quizzes. We do painting, arts and crafts, and I love thinking of new things to do to keep the children minds active and not bored. I also take them to the local leisure centre where we participate in the climbing wall and badminton sessions. I am a league badminton player, so this skill comes in handy when teaching them to play the sport. I enjoy working with children and feel rewarded when they smile and hug you and don't want you to leave when it's time to say goodbye.

My Education
Studying law at university has, so far, been a highlight of my academic career and I am currently working towards fulfilling my dream of being part of an industry that has always intrigued me. I appreciate studies are of course important, but I strongly believe that this should be equally balanced with a social life to maintain positive mental health and general awareness. Socialising with friends, whilst prioritising and managing my studies, provides me with the ability to have fun, relax and at the same time feel I have achieved from an educational perspective.

One of the main reasons I would like to become an au pair is because of the amazing experience it gives you both culturally but spending time and helping growth in children. I enjoy being around children and completing activities with them that not only engage them physically but mentally as well.
