Hello!
My name is Ainoa and I live in Catalonia, Spain. I'm a 19 year old law student who wishes to improve english skills as well as gain some work experience by taking care of children.
Some of the reasons why I want to live this aupair experience it's because I believe it to be a really good way to get out of my confort zone and outdo myself in many ways (getting to know new people, learning better a language, taking responsabilities by taking care of children, etc.).
If I had to describe myself in a few words I think I would chose ambitious, friendly and reliable. I believe myself to be someone kind and generous as well but that does not sound very modest!
If you are searching for an aupair, I'm trustworthy and I would work hard to make your kids feel happy and confortable around me.
I have always wanted to take an oportunity like this to work in a new country and learn about it's culture and people.
I'm the second of 3 siblings, all of us girls. I've grown in a familiar environment in a small town located in south Catalonia, in Spain. My parents have always worked hard to give the three of us everything we needed, as well as to give us the best education.
I've always liked children so I really enjoy talking and playing with them.
At home, as well as my mom, dad and sisters, I have two beautiful dogs I love with all my heart.
I've always given my education a lot of importance. Right now I'm studing law in a University located in Tarragona.
Since I was young I enjoyed learning languages, specially I found interest in English, so I always tryed to read and listen to whatever I found interest in this language.
Also, I learnt French and German for two years, but I have to admit that I didn't put as much interest in those langueges.
Outside of school, I took guitar lessons for a couple of years but when I became 17 I had to leave it to focus on my school work.
Since I don't have many free time because of my studies, I like to spend the little I have with people I care about. When I go home (since I study in the city, not in my hometown) I like to spend time mostly with my older and younger sisters or with my friends.
At summer, I like spending the day working at my parents grocery shop and going to the beach. I also enjoy jogging from time to time.
In my free time, considering that I'm a animal lover, I also enjoy going for long walks with my dogs while listening to some music. I have an special interest for old american-english bands.
I also like saving money to travel as much as possible. I find joy in learning from other people and other cultures.
Lastly, in my free time I also like trying new recipes I find on the internet.
Even though I have never taken care of a kid as a real work, I have taken care of some kids as favors for friends and family.
I'm able to follow rules and guidelines and I consider myself a fast learner so I think I'll be able to do the work properly.
I'm from Catalonia, which means that I can speak catalan and spanish fluently because I've learnt them on my daily life.
I've learnt English at school since an early age and, even though I don't take english lessons at University, I've kept in touch with the language by reading books and watching films and tv shows in the original language. In 2017 I did the B1 Cambridge Exam, in which I got a total punctuation of 162, because of that I got my B1 title with a B2 mention.
My plans for the future are doing a whole year ERASMUS somewhere in Europe, which means I have to improve my english level as much as possible. That could be considered as one of the reasons why I believe an au pair to be a good experience, but the truth is that it has been in my mind for a while now. The first time a considered doing a summer au pair was when I was still 16, which difficulted taking the opportunity since I was still underage. Then, the reasons that made me consider the option were basically improving my knowledge of the language.
Nowadays, I believe I'm much more prepaired to take the responsability of doing an aupair since I'm more mature and motivated than ever.
Firstly, what I expect from this experience is learn more about the language, as I have already mentioned before.
But, that's obviously not the only reason. As an au pair, I want to get to know the culture of the country, and I believe this way to be the perfect one, since it provides me the option to live and work with a family from there.
From the experience, I also expect to grow as an individual since it would give me the chance to live new experiencies and get to know new people and learn from them.
I have been vegan for some time now, which means I don't eat anything that comes form animals. Anyway, I don't have problems with food because I always eat whole foods that are easy to find at any grocery shop. Neither I have problems with people who eat meat and dairy since I believe veganism to be personal choice. For instance, non of my friends or family are vegan or vegetarian, so I don't have any problem with that.
