Au pair/Nanny from Italy called Davide, looking for a job with a nice family, starting from November
Hello! My name is Davide and I'm a 19-year-old guy. I was born and raised in Italy.
I graduated this year in the science high school of my town and now I'd like to became an au pair.
I come from a family of five people: me, my parents, my two older sisters and many cousins, uncles and aunts who, during the Christmas and Easter holidays, always bring joy into the house (I'm used to noisy families).
I consider myself a rather neat person. I'm used to tidying up my room at least once a day and to clean it at least once a week. So I can help with the housework if I have to.
In my childhood I have often had animals in my house (dogs, cats, turtles ecc…) so the presence of animals in the house doesn't bother me at all.
One positive/negative aspect of my personality is that I really need to move, I cannot spend the whole day sitting and I have to spend at least half an hour a day walking in the open air, So if the kids are lively and have fun running, I can have fun with them.
I am able to cook - having grown up in Italy I know above all the dishes of the Mediterranean diet even if I have been having breakfast with an English dish (porridge) for many months. If I need to cook for the children and I don't know your dishes I can still learn how to cook them.
In general, I try to adopt a healthy lifestyle, both for nutrition and physical activity.
About my character, if I have to play or interact with children I can be open and talkative but in general I tend to be rather reserved and quiet.
I have a passion for cinema and photography, and in fact these will be the subjects that I will have to study in my free time, besides English, for an entrance exam at the university that I will do as soon as I return to Italy.
I've been playing piano for many years, so if anyone in the family want to learn how to play, I can certainly help.
In the last three years of school, during an extracurricular activity (alternating work school) I had the opportunity, along with my classmates, to spend several hours with children from 6 to 14 years with the task of helping them with their homework and playing with them.
As I said, I graduated this year in the science high school of my town and at the moment my goal is to spend the most of this year as an au pair in an English-speaking country for many different reasons.
First of all, I've alway been attracted to English-speaking countries (UK, Ireland ecc….). Since I was a child I was very interested in their culture, traditions and environment.
Then there is the question of language: everybody knows the importance of English today.
In particular I'd like to learn English in order to use it when I get back from this experience, giving me the chance to use the enormous English knowledge (books, videos, films ecc…). Basically, I wish to speak English spoken in the real life and that can be learned only staying in your countries.
When i dicovered the possibility to beacame an Au Pair (in Italy this pratice is not well know, therefore I did not know it) I immediately thought it would be a great idea in order to immerse myself in your culture and language, especially considering I feel very comfortable working with children.
There are many other reasons, but these are the main.
