Male Au Pair from the Philippines (With Child-Care Experience)
Dear Host Family,
I hope you are doing well.
I know male au pairs are not really common. That is why it is very hard to find a host family that will accept male au pairs, but I will keep on trying until I find one. I hope it will be your family.
My name is Ergerry from the Philippines. I'm 29 years old and I live in a small city in the southern part of the country. We are raised by my parents to be a God-fearing person. I am a member of the Church of Christ or Iglesia Ni Cristo.
I am open to learning about other people's beliefs and cultures.
I'm the eldest in the family and I have four younger siblings, one girl, and three boys. I have experienced in child-care. I am taking care of my younger siblings and cousins.
We Filipinos are known for our close family ties. Right now, my sister has a daughter named Zia, 2 years old and my brother has twins sons namely Wysson and Wylton and they are 10 months old. I looked after them from time to time. I enjoy watching them. I bathe, feed and let them go to sleep.
I was trained by my parents in doing household chores. I'm a hard-working and reliable person. Knows how to drive and have a driver's license.
I also have 3 dogs (Khelcee, Khalee, and Icee) and I love them so much. We go for a walk in the morning and evening. I play badminton with my friends on weekends and enjoy watching comedy TV series like How I Met Your Mother, FRIENDS & Big Bang Theory and many others. I also enjoy going to the beach, hiking, and biking.
I finished a 2-year Electronics course at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology.
I was not able to practice my profession, well it's a bit related to what I was doing before. I was a Virtual Assistant before for various online companies/stores. I did research, data entry, some basic photo editing, and basic web design.
As of now, I am managing our small family business. We are engaged in direct selling companies like AVON and Tupperware Brands.
When I heard about Au Pair, I was very interested because I have always dreamed to travel to Europe. I want to experience and learn about different cultures and languages. And being an Au Pair will give me the opportunity to make my dream come to reality.
Honestly, leaving my family, dogs, and business behind is a very hard decision to make but I do want to experience new things and go out from my comfort zone. Sometimes it's scary but we need to do it or else we'll regret it someday.
I am sure I will learn new things and it will help me develop my personality to become a better person. Will help me understand life from a different perspective.
I'm looking forward to meeting you as my host family and I assure you that if you will choose me as your au-pair, I will give my 100% commitment to your family. I'm excited and I'll see you soon.
