My name is Listance from Zimbabwe, 33. I am looking for a job with a nice family, starting in September.
Dear Family,
Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Listance and I am a 33-year-old lady from Zimbabwe. I come from a family of 8 members with one sister living in Australia, a brother in the UK, another in Switzerland and my parents and two brothers passed away. We are a very close family even though we are in different parts of the world.
I have just recently resigned from my position working at a theme park in the UAE to pursue a degree in Hospitality and Culinary, starting in February 2020 which my passion and see myself fully committing to. For the meantime, I would love to make a difference by giving back, taking care of others and travel as well.
My first language is Shona and also fluent in English. I speak intermediate Portuguese which I learned while living in Mozambique and random German words :) and would also love to be fluent in these languages and more. Talking about countries and languages, throughout the past few years, I have worked and stayed in different countries such as Mozambique, South Africa, UAE and also managed to explore Namibia, Australia, and Europe.
I am passionate about connecting with different cultures and knowing everything in their world. Things that are dear and near to me include family, nature, creativity and the wonders that little people bring.
When it comes to childcare experience, I have always loved looking after the young ones and it started at the age of 8 years old when my mother passed away and from then on, I took care of family and friends' children from as young as 3 months old alone. In 2015, I took a course in Early Childhood Development (ECD) in South Africa and interned at the Peter Pan Down Syndrome center and pre-school. All these experiences made me more fascinated and willing to give children a good foundation and loving environment even older people as well. I learned how to take care of their needs on a daily basis and being organized as well.
I have been working in the tourism and hospitality industry in different positions including being a lifeguard with knowledge of CPR and firewarden training.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, reading and researching any topic that comes to mind. Quality time and speaking to the family is really important to me as well as helping others. I enjoy meditating, swimming, Karate, Kickboxing and always working on something.
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 3 months. I would also prefer looking after children aged between 0 months to 10 years or the elderly. I am quite flexible.
