Dear future Host Family,

My name is Marise and I am hoping to become your next extra family member!

I am 24 years old and just completed my master's degree in music education in the USA. I am planning on starting my PhD studies in October of 2020 and I am looking for an au pair experience until then. I want be an au pair abroad because I want to live in a new place and learn a new language. I am very adaptable and enjoy being immersed in new cultures. I was an au pair in China in 2018 and I loved every second of it. I looked after a little boy (aged 5) and I helped him with his English. He did excellently on the Cambridge English Test that I helped him prepare for and that made me feel extremely proud.

During my master's degree, I completed an early childhood music education certification, and through that, I also got experience working with birth to 5-year old children in a group setting. It was a wonderful course and I would definitely apply some of the things that I learnt there during my au pair work.

I love playing games and creative activities like drawing, telling stories, and making arts and crafts. I love children, but I can sometimes be a bit quite around adults. I am extremely hard-working and diligent. I pride myself on my punctuality and integrity. I also have great organizational skills. I don't have years of childcare experience and I'm hoping that this can be my opportunity to learn more. I am, however, very responsible and have the necessary experience to ensure your child's safety and wellbeing. I believe in a holistic education that is driven by love and support and this is what I will give to your child/children.

I have two loving parents and an older brother who lives in London. He and his wife recently had a baby girl and I think she is just the cutest little thing.

I am rather adventurous and love being in the outdoors. I often go on hikes and I find time in nature to be very calming. I sometimes try doing yoga, but I don't always know if I am doing it correctly. As I mentioned, I love music and I especially love to sing.

Ideally, I would find a family that is loving and caring. I also value open communication and would love to have a great relationship with my host family.
