Dear Host Family,
My name is Milena Nascimento, I'm 21 years old, I'm married and live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I am very caring, funny, intelligent, open minded, and a creative person. I have always been
very responsible and mature,(people have always trusted me for different reasons), I really
care about honesty.
My mother's name is Marilene and she's a lot of fun like me, we're very close friends. I have
two older brothers: Joshua is 24 years old, he is a great draftsman, and Moses, is 26 years old
he is a voice actor. My dad died when I was 11. Currently I live with my husband Eldon, 29, we
got married on March 23rd, 2019, but we have been together for 6 years. He is my biggest
supporter for this exchange program, gives me all the support I need. We are very united and
he is my best friend. He loves online games (me too) and we love doing things together.
I have always been involved with children's projects and young people. I was responsible for
children in the church, teaching arts, teaching to be good people, and teaching about Jesus and
his goodness. I also graduated as a kindergarten teacher in high school and I worked in this
area with children from 2 to 11 years old. In addition to educational activities, I taught them to
have more autonomy in hygiene, to brush their teeth ... I did a lot of activities, like reading,
singing, dancing with them. I loved those children and they (and their moms) always gave me
gifts as thanks.
I worked on a social project developed by the city hall of my city for 1 year. There I taught
dance for children, young people and adults, I also got elected member of the Council of
Culture and Art.
I looked after children at home too, from newborn to 11 years old. In short, I have many years'
experience with all ages.
I have been dancing and acting for many years since I was 5 years old. I participated in the
opening show of the Paralympic Games, Rio2016. I also love to cook, going out to do hikings,
camping, going to the beach ... I love nature. I like to listen to songs (R & B mostly), watch tv
and tv shows (I love Property Brothers). I love to talk about everything, I like to listen to stories
and to learn new things.
I've chosen au pair exchange because it is an opportunity to have a different life experience, to
overcome my limits, to improve my English, to know another culture, to grow professionally
and, all the way I like, with children. I am fascinated by following a child's growth and its
phases. It's magical.
I hope my future family respects me above all else, because it is the basis of everything. I was
educated to respect independently of anything and I expect to be respected. I would love to
teach your kids dance, theater and everything I know.
