Specialized Child Welfare Social Worker from the U.S. My name is Vanessa and I am looking for a job with a nice family beginning the 9th of August!
Hello:)
My name is Vanessa and am a 23 y/o female graduate from the U.S. My degree is in social work but I specialize specifically in child welfare. I have worked with children all my life from varying backgrounds, of all ages and in different capacities.
I am the oldest child of 3 in my family and we are very close, my family. I pursued child welfare because I've always thoroughly enjoyed learning and caring for children and have always been a caretaker in some way because I come from a big family! I have worked in domestic and international foster care for 2+ years while I was in school so I am familiar with working with people from various backgrounds and lifestyles. Also, qualifications I obtained during my employment are trauma informed care as well as being CPR/First Aid certified. I also know how to swim. Currently I work as an applied behavioral therapist for children with autism. So I have some experience working with kids who have developmental disabilities as well.
While I do not practice a religion, I do believe in a conscious, empathetic lifestyle and caring for kids through compassion and understanding so they may have the freedom to navigate who they are in a safe space. A lot of my hobbies and personal values are based on this mindset.
I have been vegan for 4 years but do not mind working/cooking for a family who is not. I have been cooking since a very young age for my siblings so I know how to navigate a kitchen very well! I also don't mind cleaning and love animals and caring for them:) I grew up with many pets and enjoy them immensely. In my free time I feel most comfortable being in nature and exploring. I have traveled many places to hike and learn about other cultures, mainly in the U.S. but also in Ireland and the UK. I also enjoy things such as yoga, exercising and reading. My personality overall is pretty laid back even though I love to be active. I also do not drink if I do it is very very rare. I also do not to smoke.
I would enjoy a family who shares similar values and is fairly liberal. The reason I am pursuing a position as an au pair is I recently graduated and would like an experience working with children abroad in this capacity.
