My name is Alex. I am a 26 year-old (male)
Ugandan. currently live in kampala, (which is uganda's largest city), found in the central region at the shores of lake Victoria.
A few months back, I just completed a kids soccer coaching junior course and in two years I plan to pursue a bachelor's degree, but I am yet to make up my mind concerning my future area of specialization. So, at the moment, I would like to take some time out of academics to have a different life experience, and to have time to calmly reflect on my future academic/professional orientation. To this end, I think spending a year abroad would be particularly interesting.
When it comes to child care experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts. Last year, as part of my church (watoto church), I spent some period working in a children's home in gulu. I also organized for them and took part in recreational indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, danced, played games, role played, drew, painted, and narrated stories,and early this year, I also volunteered in an NGO called econ children's village, this organization looks after kids especially orphans and am the football coach as well in this NGO
As far as preferences are concerned, I am looking for a live-in arrangement with a host family, that would be happy to have me stay with and work for them for at least 7months. I would also prefer looking after children aged between 6 months to 15 years. Lastly, I am quite flexible with work.
