Dear Future Host Family,

I am very excited about this next step in my life. I am excited to experience myself in whole new situations and develop myself as an adult.

I really expect a warm loving and caring family atmosphere who are open-minded, respectful and kind, where someone like me can be herself and get close to the kids in a way they can recognize they have and can rely on not a babysitter but a real sister actually. I would like to be like a sister for them, so you can expect my total care and attention for them since I would treat them as my own siblings. Host Family who will be able to spend some time together, sharing, have fun, etc. I wish I can find a good family as my second home, thank you. :)

Everyone just calls me Andina. I came from Makassar, the capital city of South Sulawesi, Indonesia, but lived in several cities in the past 3 years. (Bandung and Jakarta) for study but now I return to my hometown and I live with my family.

I would describe myself as a very friendly, reliable, very respectful and open-minded person who likes to learn about other people and cultures. According to my friends, I am very cheerful and love to laugh and joking around make other people laugh as well. Personally, I would say that I am a family-oriented person who likes to live and work with others in harmony.

When it comes to childcare experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts.
1) I started caring for children some years ago. In the beginning, I look after my little cousins. I see him almost every day since he was born. His parents have provided me with a good reference. He is a lovely little baby. I have faded him, changing diapers, and put him to the bed when his parents go out and as time went by the adults trusted in me. I got more and more responsibility after that, then my 2 baby nephews and a niece were born about a year ago, and I'm glad to be able to help my sister to take care of them. I also enjoy spending some time playing with my neighbor's children.

2) Last year, as part of my voluntary service, I spent almost a half month working in a primary and junior high in Bandung, West Java. I organized for them and took part in indoor and outdoor activities: we sang, played games, gardening, painting, and also educate and inspire them to protect the environment (who was our voluntary mission), and about a month ago, I was volunteered for camping with children from kindergartens and elementary schools. I was in charge of guarding them, supervising/accompanying them while playing, preparing food and putting them to sleep in tents with their friends. I took care of two groups of children at that time, 4 girls and 7 boys. They are very active and cheerful, I am quite overwhelmed to take care of all of them but still happy at the same time, they are very pleasant kind of kids.

If your child has special needs or is physically restricted in any way, I want to focus on their unique capabilities to create a positive environment. I am aware that it can be extra-challenging but I will try to work together closely with you to ensure that I can be a positive influence for your child.

Basic household chores are not a problem, I do that on a daily basis here. I know how to cook, cleaning, and washing (since I've been living alone and away from home for the past 5 years, it makes me become more independent and responsible person), do everyday tasks such as helping with meal preparation, serving and looking after children, it won't be a problem either- I have helped family/relatives with these things very often.

To go abroad as an Au-Pair has been a wish of mine for a long time now. One of my passions is to learn more about other cultures - which is why I have been abroad on my own several times before.

I would love to become an Au Pair because from time to time I find myself in their ever animated company, I can comfortably say that I sincerely enjoy spending time with children. I love them because they represent all the innocence which we lost growing up. I love seeing how they develop and learn new things every day. I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that is like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just playing and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master the most difficult situations, for instance when the kids are tired or don't want to listen to me. I know it is not always easy to take care of children, but it is still a great experience to share some time with them.

I am always really excited to learn/experience the culture of other countries. Furthermore, I want to improve my language skills, explore more places during time off and meeting new sets of new friends. I will be able to learn the more complex in and outs of life and how to handle it. I'm ready to talk about my culture and to explain everything I know about it. To be always helpful and friendly. I'm ready to change my routine too, and to discover a new way of living, for live this experience as best I can.

Throughout this experience I know I can learn a lot from the family and really looking forward to having a harmonious relationship with you. Learning more about life in another perspective and hopefully these memories will be treasured forever.

Last but not least, living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have followed your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things. I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with y
