An au pair from north of England called Jodie, 17, and looking for an au pair job with a nice and bubbly family, to start as soon as possible!
Family and friends have described me as fun, bubbly and approachable. I have worked with many families as a babysitter, ranging ages from new born to 13.
I am from Manchester, and live here with my family. We are a big family of 6! So something is always going on, whether that be my younger sister baking or making slime, or my younger brother blasting music and dancing with my dad in the kitchen. Your family is hopefully the same! My parents are both hardworking people, and do their best to make our lives as best as they can.
Being the second eldest of four children, my life has consisted of helping take care of my younger siblings, including my younger brother with a disability. He has Septo Optic Dysplasia, optic nerve hypoplasia and developmental delay. Because of his developmental delay, he is looks like a 13 year old boy, but has the mindset of someone much younger. If i become your au pair i really hope you get to meet him! He is the most loving, happy and lively boy i have ever met, so helping take care of him is a joyous part of my life.
Beside helping take care of my brother ans sister for the majority of my life, i have also taken care of a lot of children. For the past 2 years i have taken care of a 6 year old girl, she loves everything pink and unicorns, and taking care of her has been lovely. I have also taken care of a 2 year old girl, who is practically in love with minnie mouse! I have babysat her for a year, but they recently moved away so no longer needed my support. My older sister just recently had a baby boy, he is now 10 months old, and i have babysat him at least weekly for the past 6 months.
In September of 2017 I went to college to study BTEC applied science, i enjoyed this for the first half, but after the first year i decided the course wasnt what i wanted to carry on doing. In June of 2018 i left college, in seek of an apprenticeship, but quickly realised that childcare was my passion, and that was something i wanted to pursue. So since then i have had a part time job at a retail store, but gained most of my income babysitting most nights of the week. This is when i found out about Au Pairing. Now i am exploring my options, and hoping to become an au pair as soon as possible.
