Italo-Chilean Au Pair, Giannina, 30, hoping to meet a nice German family to help to and learn from! Starting from March.
Dear Host Family:
I'm Giannina, a Chilean-Italian student who enjoys living new experiences in life! Even though I've got a Communication degree in Chile (I've worked as a journalist for a couple of years), I'm currently studying Tourism Management at the University of Padua.
I'd love to meet your wonderful family, to help you with whatever you need and, most of all, to learn from you all :) I know it requires so much trust to opening your home to someone you don't know, that's why I am commited to do my best!
I consider myself to be a quiet person, I love writing, reading, drawing and, particularly, learning languages (my mother tongue is Spanish and I've learnt English and Italian by self-taught, and now I'm starting with German). However, I also like to do outdoor activities as biking, running, hiking and travel as much as I can.
While I was studying in Chile I worked as a babysitter in my free time and I also tutored many children on school subjects. I also have voluntary working experience: for several years I was part of a Universitary Volunteer team (at the University of Chile), which developed construction work and educational activities for children in vulnerable rural areas (we also helped after the Concepción's Earthquake back in 2010).
Why becoming an Au Pair? I always get amazed when I see how curious and smart children are, absorbing so much knowledge. I love the way they see the world and how much you can learn from them. And, as I said before, I love new experiences! Besides that, my study plan demands me to learn a language (besides English) and I chose German. That's why I'd really want to experience being an Au Pair, so I can immerse myself into German (or English) language and culture by sharing some quality time with a local family.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm studying Tourism, so, after being an Au Pair, I'm planning to finish my career and then work in a German or English speaking country.
