Maria from Spain, 32, looking for a job with a nice family, starting from 14 Jan!
Dear host family,
How are you? I am happy to say hello to you all :)
My name is María del Mar, and my friends and family mostly call me Mar or even María. I am 32 years old and a Bachelor in Business Management & Administration. I was born in Madrid though I currently live in Elche, a 200.000 inhabitants town in Alicante in the Mediterranean coast of Spain, the southeastern of the Iberian peninsula.
I have always been very active and keen on sports, interested in playing any outdoor activity. During my lifetime I have enjoyed the most with ballet, cycling, tennis, volley, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, ping pong, among others. Currently, activities like Yoga, Pilates, fitness, and jogging are the bests for combining with the daily routine.
I also enjoy chill and activities like reading, painting, meditating or walking. I consider myself engaged with nature and balance. I am an organic fully raw vegan, and I enjoy showing healthy eating habits to children, and an eco-friendly way of life. and I find very interesting and entertaining teaching children how to prepare funny food, desserts, smoothies, recycle.
Should you have the chance to take a look into my profile, you would have probably had the chance to check some records of my experience taking care and educating children through different roles: as a volunteer in different programmes and institutions, such as Musica para la Paz, an after-school place for children in social risk where they grow the values of living together, respect, teamwork, and receive school support, have leisure and educational activities, fun, cultural excursions, and a school meal; at Unesco Comunidad Valenciana with cultural and educational projects at schools, villages and cities; also collaborating in after-school activities such as theatre, dance, and body expression for confidence and improving life in the school community. I have also played a role in children's animation parties as a student work during my academic
training, as well as babysitting. I enjoy very much working with children and spending time with them.
I am also interested in the cultural exchange and, since a long time ago, it has been my aim to have a real experience of immersion in the British culture and language. I believe that is the best way to get this is living with a local family and looking after their children, which is, in fact, one of my very best roles for playing in life. Living an Au pair experience would mean fulfilling both purposes: strengthening English for boosting my career while spending quality time with kids and being involved in a new culture.
For everything above mentioned, is why I decided to take this decisive step forward and professionally a break, so I could focus on this.
I feel so thrilled about the opportunity to know you better and the possibility of becoming a new member of your family for a while :)
Yours Sincerely,
Maria del Mar.
