Hi!
I'm Amy. I'm 19 years old and I live in Northern Ireland (about 10 minutes from Belfast.) Throughout the last 6 years I've been deeply involved within working with children through work experience and volunteering and it's an area I just love - and thus I think spending my summer break from university as an au pair would be of great fun.
I am currently undertaking a BA(Hons) in Theology and Religion at Durham University, of which I'm in my second year. Through this course I've learnt lots about other religions and cultures and I hope that through this programme of going abroad I'd be able to experience some of this. Aside from my academic studies I have also been keenly involved in a vast array of volunteer work, mostly related to children. These have involved work experience in an active classroom, volunteering at my old prep school, helping at an after school club and working as a peer mentor in my school whereby I was a role model and mentor to younger 11/12 year old pupils who were beginning at the school.
Another passion of mine is travelling and I've set myself the goal to go to all seven continents by the time I'm 25,of which so far I've achieved Europe, North America and Asia.
I also love music and singing! I listen to almost every genre from classical into Irish and am currently about to begin piano lessons.
Sports wise I enjoy tennis, badminton, squash, table tennis and so on.
