Au pair from France, 21 years old, looking for a job and new experiences abroad
Hi, my name is Amber, I'm 21 years old and I recently had my English degree from the University of Bordeaux. I've always wanted to travel, and as I've already been everywhere in France, I think it's time for me to push my boundaries and fly out the country to immerse myself in a different place, so I can grow as an individual but also learn a lot of new valuable skills.
As of right now, I live at a distant cousin's house, because I needed a place to live in Bordeaux (where I graduated) and had no job while I was studying. It's basically like being an au-pair - they have three daughters between 5 and 9 years old, and I look after them when my cousin and her husband are working, and help with the housework when needed. Also, my mother is a daycare director so I've grown hearing about children all the time, and I can always turn to her if I ever need a piece of advice.
I love learning languages, and although I didn't mark them as languages I speak on my profile because I can only hold really basic conversations, I speak a bit of Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese - which is also why I'd like to go work in a country in which English isn't the first language, so I can learn a new one. I'm a really curious person, and learning about the history of a country, its culture, its language, is one of the things I love the most, which is also why I'm really eager to leave and learn new things overseas.
I'm a fairly discreet person, and truly not the invasive type. However, that doesn't mean I don't like spending time with people - I really hope we can get along well, and I'd love to tell you all about my country, and teach you some French if you want me to. I want this to be a good experience for the both of us.
I really like being outside - I used to live in the countryside and spend hours cycling back and forth to the beach, and although I live in the city now, I still love to walk down the docks when the sun is setting down, or when it rises when I'm brave enough. But I enjoy staying indoors as well, to read a book, listen to music or watch movies. I'm not so good a cook but I can still find my way around a kitchen, especially when it comes to baking. I really love discovering new things, so I'd love to learn about your, or your children's hobbies. If you have pets, it'd be my pleasure to look after them as well. As a child, I had a dog, and now, I have a cat - but I love all animals equally.
I am not religious, but if you are, I totally respect that. Being respectful of anyone regardless of one's beliefs, gender, race, ect - I really value that.
