Dear Host Family!
My name is Oleksandr Olishevskyi and I`d like to tell you about myself in this letter. I`m a 20 year-old (male) Ukrainian student. I was born in Komsomolsk, Ukraine. Now I`m living in Kharkiv on the east of Ukraine. Kharkiv was the 1st capital of Ukraine. I belong to a family of 5 including my parents, Svetlana (economist) and Oleksandr (engineer), a younger brother Ivan and a younger sister Sophia studying at secondary school and me. I have a good relationship to my brother, my sister and my parents.
I`m very interested in working for your family as an au-pair. It was always my dream to experience life staying with a family of another culture in a foreign country. I think it is challenging and it attracts me a lot. I `d like to travel to the USA because I think it is a beautiful country with its beautiful landscapes and people living there. I think a year in another country will enlarge my cultural knowledge and improve my language skills which will help me in the future get a good job in Ukraine.
I got my driving license 2 years ago. I`m very experienced driver because I`ve driven since I was 16 years old. I commute every weekend in any weather.
I am a creative and ambitious young man because I have a lot of ideas about my future life. I am interested at all kinds of sports and for this reason I have special sport classes in my technical university twice a week.
I started caring for children some years ago. At the beginning I looked after my siblings and as time went by the parents trusted me, therefore I got more and more responsibility towards my younger brother and a sister. I did my best and coped well with all the duties. I got my first paid job at the age of 18. I had to look after my little neighbor at the weekend. She was 3,5years old when I started to take care of her. My tasks were to wake her up, prepare food for her, walk and play with her, take her for dance classes, look after her till 5 pm. I was her nanny for 1.5 years and I did a good job (the girl's parents said that). It is not always easy to take care of children but it is a great experience to share some time with them. I have much patience because I trained this skills during my coaching time in the summer camps and during my other baby-sitting jobs
In 2015-2016 I worked as a counselor in the summer camps where I got a lot of child care experience. I helped organize some cultural, sports events, supervise children during my working hours. I worked with a group of children at the age of 9-11. It was a hard work but now I am sure that I`m very patient, reliable, communicative, creative, child-loving person. I was responsible for day-to-day running of my assigned group, performed all activities according to the schedule. I also was the coach of a group of children between the ages of 7 and 16. The group consisted of nearly 25 boys and girls with different characters and interests and it appeared to be not easy to motivate the children and to find an approach to every child in such a big group, but I managed it. I liked to do that job and it gave me new energy because we became very close with the children of my group. I am cheerful and sensitive for the children's needs. Besides it, I took care about 7 month girl. I was a babysitter 3 times per week. I looked after Arina. We played games, I feeded her from spoon and bottle, we play games for the development of motor hand. Also I put her to bed.
I think it is the wrong way to shout at children. I have the strength to set them limits if necessary and I am consequent. I`m always polite, creative, kind and humorous. I don`t have problems to help in running the house. I really love cooking and I like to taste other foods. At a stubent dorm I always cook myself. My hobbies are swimming and gymnastics. I can play the piano. I like to watch different movies in English to improve my language. One of my best characteristics is my tolerance. Nowadays it is very important to be tolerant because there are so many different countries and traditions.
