Dear Family,

My name is Shauna and I'm from a small seaside town in Massachusetts, USA. I am currently 17 but will be 18 in early June. I love working with children and have been doing so for the past five years in a variety of ways. I am very caring, responsible and fun spirited!

I really enjoy spending time with children because they are so imaginative and playful. By being an au pair I would be able to not only be around these children, but also to help them learn English, which could be essential to their future. I like the idea that by watching over and teaching children you are helping them to become strong, caring adults. In addition, I would love to be exposed to another culture and travel abroad as I have never been to Europe before. I also would like to be fluent in Spanish eventually and this would be a great way to strengthen my skills.

In terms of experience I have plenty! I am the middle child in a family of three and have a younger brother (13) who I have cared for and watched in the past. I first began babysitting when I was 12 and have continued to watch children from a variety of ages, 2-11. I could definitely ask families I have babysat for in the past to be references if that would make you feel more comfortable. I also was a counselor in training and eventually a camp counselor at a summer camp (2016) for girls ages 5-6 and 7-9. In addition I watch infants ages 1.5-2 once a month for my church during the services.

This past summer I volunteered with pediatric or children's occupational therapists because I am interested in the field and am considering working with children in my future careers.

I have seriously studied Spanish for 6 years, am a member of the National Spanish Honors Society, and an AP (college level) Spanish student. I also will be volunteering with an adult english learning program for immigrants in the US for a few months.

I do have an American driver's license and am CPR certified

Hobbies: dance, theater, art (love going to museums), music, yoga (would love to practice more), being outdoors, kayaking

Yo tengo mucho experiencia! Soy la nina secundaria en una familia de tres y tengo un hermano menor (13) quien le cuide en el pasado. Primera, yo empece cuidarse por los ninos cuando tuve 12 anos y continuo por ninos de una variedad de edades 2-11. Podre preguntar las familias que yo cuide para ser referencias si te quieres. Tambien, fui una monitara en una campa de dia (2016) por ninas de 5-6 y 7-9 anos. En adicion yo miro enfantes de 1.5-2 anos una vez de mes por mi iglesia.

Este verano pasado, yo volunte con una terapista ocupacional pediatrica porque tengo interes en el trabajo y estoy considerando un trabajo con ninos en la futura.

Estudio espanol para 6 anos y tomo un clase de espanol AP ( el nivel de universidad). Tambien, soy un miembro de la sociedad nacional honoraria de espanol. Voluntare con una programa que ayudar adultos (imigrantes) con su ingles por unos meses. Entiendo que mi espanol no es perfecto pero quiero improbar.

Tengo una licensia americana de conducir

Actividades: Baile, teatro, arte (me gusta los museos), musica, un poquito de yoga, estar al aire libre y hacer kayak
