Hi,
My name is Emma, and I will turn 18 on the 25th of may.
I am a joyfull person who loves to meet new people, and to learn and discover new things.
I think I am hardworking, helpful, reliable, quite tidy and very outgoing.
Playing board games is my idea of fun, as well as doing outdoor activities, and I'm crazy about cooking.

I currently live with my parents. I have two big brothers, one is 10 years older than me and the other one is 7 years older than me. We get along very well and I really like the age gap between us because of several reasons, one of them being the fact that I already have a nephew. He is 3 years old and I love spending time with him. I like to teach him things such as colors, letters, numbers; I even started to teach him a little bit of english ! I like to be around children, even if they are a big responsability, this is one of the reason I thought about being an au pair.

By the time I am writting this letter, I am in my last year in High School, I think it translates to senior year in english, I am in a "social and economic sciences" class and will take my A levels in June.

My favorite subject is English. In fact I'm interested in english since my young age, as a kid I used to watch series in which all the songs were in english. At first I sang the song without having a clue about a word I was saying, but as time passed, I went on the internet as to look for the lyrics and eventually learnt a few words. I an conviced this is what make me look into english in the first place. When I first started english classes in school, I already knew some of the stuffs we were studying so this made me want to learn more and more quickly.Therefore, I joined the "euro class" in my school, this is a class that gives me 2 extra hours of english per week. I also started to watch series and films in english with french subtitles, and now with english subtitles. I really enjoy learning new words or epressions. Actually, this is one of the main reason I wanted to be an au pair : to improve my english because I want to be fluent, as I am thinking of becoming an english teacher after my au pair experience.

I have never been an au pair before as I am just finishing high school. This will be my first long experience away from home taking care of children. However, I do not fear being homesick.

Since my childhood I am keen on cooking, and as a vegetarian now, I think I take even more pleasure preparing my meals. What I cook is always vegan, but I don't mind eating eggs and dairy from time to time if there isn't any other options.
I enjoy doing sports as well, I like to take time to practice yoga everyday, I try to go for a run whenever I feel motivated, and I also like swimming but I have to admit that I don't do it really often.
One of my other passion is travelling. I really love discovering new countries because of the diversity of landscapes and cultures. I've already been to Morocco and Tunisia with my parents as a child, then as a teenager, I went to England, Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands in summer camps. I've also been to Gran Canaria and Mallorca, and had the chance to visit Cuba. I have always wanted to visit Canada and Australia which is why I choosed Autralia as the country I wanted to live in for a few months.
I am found of music and consequently, love to go to concerts.
I also take interest in reading and am always excited to learn new things.
After my stay in Australia, I would like to study in order to become an english teacher, this is an other reason why I want to be an au pair, as to improve my english.

I would like to go abroad as an au pair because I want to improve my english, and because I enjoy taking care of children. I like to teach them new things, to play with them, to see them happy. I know taking care of children is a big responsability but I am motivated to do my best for them. I also would like to discover your country and the aussi culture. Spending a year abroad will also enable me to meet new people and to become more responsible.
