Dear Host Family,
Mabuhay! My name is April; I am 23 years old from Philippines. I want to give myself a chance to discover other culture and make new friends. It was always a dream of mine to live and work in a foreign country. Europe is my favorite continent and I would like to explore other countries and to discover more about its culture.
My family is a typical Filipino Family. My father is a farmer and my mother is a housewife and she is also employed as a public servant in our community. I have six siblings and I am the fourth child of my parents. I am close to my family, sometimes there is a little misunderstanding but we make sure to solve and talk about it before the day ends.
About me as a person, a daughter and a friend, I am very creative and polite. I love doing school projects when I was still studying. As I grew up my parents thought me to respect others and be a good example to everyone. I value friendship a lot; my friends are like my sisters. We shared a lot of happy moments together and we were always there for each other if someone needs somebody to lean on.
When I was sixteen, I was elected as a youth chairman in our community and I take that as one of the best experience of my teenage life. I graduated college in 2013, I took up an Associate Degree in Information Technology and I also have a National Certificate in Housekeeping which I took up early this year of 2017.
I love listening to music, watching movies and TV series. My favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Linkin Park and Bruno Mars because their songs inspired me so much. I also love watching sport such as basketball. I can also cook, my father thought me so. My specialty is Filipino dishes such as Adobo, Sinigang and Pochero.
I worked in a manufacturing company way back in 2014 and my recent job is being a Team Member in one of the famous restaurant here in the Philippines. This is going to be my first time as an Au pair if you'll choose me. I do have childcare experience cause I take good care of my cousins children sometimes if they are busy. I have two nieces and four nephews aging from 3-9 years old that are living on the same village where I lived. I love kids, I am very close to my cousins children and we play if I have some extra time. Kids make me feel stress free if I'm with them.
I do not have problems to help in the household, my mother thought me to do light household chores when I was a kid and I bring that wherever I go. I really love cooking and I like to taste other foods, at home I often cook menus with 2 or 3 courses. I learned it with my father. I love reading, I also love watching news and prefer to watch documentaries about animals on TV and I try my best to learn something new.
One of my best characteristics is my patience. Without patience, we will learn less in life. We will see less. We will feel less. We will hear less. Ironically, rush and more usually mean less.
