My name is Sophie, I am 21 years old and I am from the United Kingdom, looking to work and become part of a friendly family, starting from January 2018 onwards :)

I am a 21 year-old au pair, currently living in Trier, Germany. I moved here in January 2017 and I currently au pair for an Irish family with 3 children. Since I started, I have fallen in love with au-pairing and Germany!
So, a little bit about me as a person. I am friendly to everyone I meet, I believe it is 'nice to be nice'. I love to meet new people and listening to their interests and stories. I also love spending time with children, whether that involves assisting them with their learning and development, or playing games with them and making them laugh.

On top of my current experience as an au-pair, I have childcare experience from university placements within schools and nurseries, as well as paid work as a childcare assistant in a nursery. I grew up with several younger siblings from the age of 10, so I have plenty of experience in looking after children from babies and onwards within the home. I helped my parents out a lot so I know how hard parenting can be, and have a good idea of what kind of tasks an Au Pair would need to do on a day-to-day basis.
I have also spent my spare time for the past two years working in an elderly home for residents with early to severe dementia. This has given me plenty of experience catering to all the daily needs of individuals who struggle to communicate.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Studies, which has taught me all I need to know about children's development and has given me experience on the practical, educational side of childcare. I will eventually use my degree to become a teacher, however at the moment I am enjoying life as an au-pair, and wish to continue au-pairing for the forseeable future.
I am possibly moving to Hamburg in the beginning of 2018, which is why I have updated this profile. I am in the search for a family who could make use of my services! I would love to be an au-pair for a family in Hamburg, ideally live-out, but I will be free 24/7 to suit the needs of a family.
I am also available for elderly care, which I have plenty of experience in and also enjoy doing.
