Hi, my name is Kjerstan. I am a young au pair from the USA with 5 years + childcare experience. I care for children regularly in my native country and am excited by the opportunity to spend some time caring for children abroad. I am passionate about spending time outdoors and learning languages. I finished my high school education at the age of 16 and went on to begin an associates degree in biology. I am currently a student at Pierce College just finishing up my freshman year. I have various certifications ranging from basic child care to advanced emergency response. You can view my certifications in the professional tab. I love working with children and recently completed a service learning project teaching ecology to fifth graders. Au pair appeals to me as it provides me with the opportunity to spend time caring for and teaching children while also allowing me to learn a new language. My native language is English, but I speak a considerable amount of Swedish due to my Swedish-American heritage. I also speak basic amounts of German, French, and Danish.
