We are a young, open-minded and fun international family. Laura (39) is half Spanish, half Italian. Fabian (40) is German and the boys (7 and 8) are German/Italian/US citizens. As of April 2019, we will have our final family addition: an Austrian born little princess. So quite some flavor! We moved around a lot over the past years and have kind of settled in Vienna five years ago. But we still love to travel and our friends are from all over the world!
Laura will not work until May 2020 due to maternity leave. Fabian on the other hand works full-time and will often be absent from home due to business travel. So we are fairly busy during the week and need somebody to "own and run" the house.
While both still working full-time, we decided to try out whether an AuPair setup could work for us. And despite some early concerns, we are really happy with our AuPair experiences to date. Currently we have our fourth AuPair and all four years were great. So we would really look forward to welcom

We live in Klosterneuburg, a beautiful 30.000 citizen city right at the outskirts (1km) of Vienna, Austria. The well-off city leans up to mountaineous wine yards while being located right at the Danube. Before the city became independent, it was a district of Vienna. Going to Vienna is hence literally one step away - where Klosterneuburg ends, the 19th district of Vienna begins. Connections via metro/tube/bus are very good (closest Vienna tube station is "Heiligenstadt").
We live in a nice, spacious house with a garden. The house is well located for both Klosterneuburg (bus stops in front of house, house is at the end of one of the major city streets) as well as Vienna endeavors (5mins walk to tube, 5mins ride by tube).
Unsere Erwartungen
We look for an Aupair who will help us with the two older boys (school pick-up, homework, afternoon activities, etc.) and to a lesser extent with our newborn girl. In addition and quite a bit: household. For deep-cleaning, we have a cleaning lady but in the past some of our AuPairs chose to take this over on a paid basis.
Usually, Laura or Fabian take the boys to school at 7.45am, where they then stay until around 3 pm each day (exceptions: illness + holidays).
We would expect you to get the boys ready in the morning as well as prepare breakfast and a take-away snack for them. Once left, you should do the general clean-up/washing/etc. during the day and then pick up the boys from school (which is conveniently located 150m from our house). It would be important for us that you then do some afternoon activities (sports, playground, craft, etc.) with them, prepare/have dinner with them and get them ready for bed. Usually one of us is home for dinner/bed time but in case we do not, you would also put them to sleep.
General working days would be Monday-Friday and Saturday morning. Fluent English would be important. Once or twice a year, we would also "require" you to join us for a holiday - at least for a week in the complete peace of the Austrian mountains and maybe a trip to our families in Germany or Spain. Our previous AuPairs loved it!
In our house, you will essentially have the privacy of your "own floor" (i.e. nice room, nice bathroom, separate toilet, floorway) for most of the time. Only if we have guests (ca. 3-5 weeks/year) you will have to share the bathroom.
