Au pair needed for a busy, sporty family with two girls and a cat to help with school runs, homework and after school activities.

We are an easy-going and active family. Our daughters are aged ten and eight and we also have a cat.

We have had au pairs as part of our family for over three years now and have got on really well with most of them. Our current au pair is leaving in September and we are looking for another au pair to take her place. Ideally, we would like someone to stay for around six months but we would also consider a shorter stay of three months or a longer stay of up to 12 months.

We are looking for a warm, friendly au pair who likes children and can quickly build a connection with them.

We live in a large village about 6km outside Cirencester, (pronounced S-eye-ren-ses-ter), a small tourist town, known as the Capital of the Cotswolds; in Gloucestershire in the UK. My husband and I work full time about 20 minutes away from our home and both girls attend school in Cirencester.

Although the town is quite small, it has a good range of shops, cafes, bars, a leisure centre. Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham and Oxford are within an hour's drive.

My husband and I leave the house at 7am each morning. Our au pair will need to to help get the girls ready in the morning (making packed lunches, helping them pack their bags for school, preparing breakfast, ensuring they brush their teeth etc). It is important that our au pair is a confident driver, able to navigate roundabouts and junctions safely as they will have to drive them to and from school each day, which is about a 6km drive away.

On most days, our au pair will need to prepare dinner for the girls. They also have after-school activities and clubs a couple of days a week so there is quite a bit of driving them around to places. It would also be great if our au pair could help the girls with their homework each day, including their violin practice.

My husband and I are generally home by 5/5.15pm. We also pick the girls up from school on Friday.

In addition to the above duties, we expect our au pair to help ensure the girls rooms and playroom are tidy, help with laundry etc. My husband and I attend a local running club on Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm. We also like to go out some Thursday evenings after the girls go to bed. We can manage at the weekends if our au pair wants to go away for the weekend.

We pay pocket money of £75 per week plus £25 fuel allowance for between 25-30 hours of work. Longer hours may be required during school holidays and we will pay extra if more than 30 hours are worked. This can be discussed. Our au pair will also have full use of our second car.

We need someone who is a competent driver and is able to cook simple, child friendly meals, help around the home as part of the family. As the girls are getting older and more independent, it is not as hands on as it used to be. It would therefore suit someone who enjoys spending time with children but has other interests that they would pursue during their time in the UK.
