Au Pair needed to look after our 18 month old girl, living in a comfortable home within 25 minutes of central London with the opportunity to travel.

We're looking for a fun, energetic and neat and tidy addition to our household who has an interest and experience looking after babies/toddlers. Having training in first aid or an interest in child development would be an advantage.

On week days we'd expect you to look after the little one whilst we're out from 6.50 am until around 7 pm Monday to Friday, going to local kids' activities, doing fun activities at home and helping her explore the world and learn new things, and dropping her off/ collecting her from nursery. As above, you can wake up when the baby wakes-up so it is relatively civilised. During the day, it would be great if you could spend an hour tidying/ cleaning but only if you have the energy! We will have a cleaner doing a full clean of the house once a week.

We take over childcare duties in the evenings and on the weekends, when you will have more free time. You will also have free time when the baby is in nursery (subject to being an emergency point of contact). Our current au pair uses this time to go to the gym, run errands or meet friends. You might find this is a good time to study or explore the local area.

Some evenings and weekends we may ask you to look after the baby for extra money. You may want to join some of our activities on the weekends and holidays. We both love to travel (in comfort!) and would like to continue to do so with the little one and of course you sometimes. Recent destinations include Malaysia, Thailand, USA, Norway and France. Our current au pair has also used the weekend to explore the UK and Europe with friends and family (including for example a trip to Paris). If you travel with us, we consider you one of the family and we share the baby duties. For example, we love to have time looking after the little one, but sometimes appreciate an evening out for dinner just the two of us.

I like to cook in the evenings and we'd love to have you join us for dinner most nights. Sometimes you might like to cook or you may prefer to go out in the evenings with friends. Let's see what happens organically.
