I am a single parent but live with my daughter's father as our daughter is a special needs child. She is the dearest and best girl a mother could ask for. Despite her difficulties, she loves books and computers and loves her food eats food. We give her a lot of love and respect, and in turn, she is a real joy to be with and is a happy jolly soul.

I am looking for someone aged 40 and over to join my family. My daughter is quite spirited and enjoys environments that stimulate her thirst for learning, but also encourage her to help herself. She has delayed development and still has a way to go with some of her basic independent needs. The au pair is required to have enough understanding of special needs children and have a very calm and caring nature and understand that this is a very dedicated position and must know the difference between observing, teaching and guidance as oppose to entertainment and stimulation. Also, they must have a clear idea of when to us the appropriate approach.

My daughter goes to a special needs school from 8:30am to 4:00pm and it is expected that she is got ready for school and is looked after in the evening no later than 18:00pm if a parent is present and weekends during term time. During the school holidays it is very hectic and full on. Also, to help with cooking and housework where needed as I have cleaners who come to the house twice a week.
