Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:

SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.

Hello!
We are a family with 3 young children, in search of someone who will be happy living as part of our family, ideally for at least 8-9 months, and with whom we can enjoy family activities and a mutual exchange of cultures.
We live in a small town near London, with a pretty garden, in area with lots of other families, young people and au pairs. We are happy to help with language learning, visits in the
area, etc, and hope to find someone who enjoys being with children (and who is happy with
the responsibility) and who would like to discover England with our support, and become part of our family. I am a language teacher (part time) and my husband is a lawyer.
We have had an excellent experience with our last au pair, who has now gone back home to work (and is happy to speak to a future au pair for a reference).
If you think we might be suitable, please get in touch!

We are a busy, happy family with 3 children, living in small town called Cobham, near London. We live in a spacious house, with a pretty garden, in an area with many other families and au pairs. We are near countryside but also have good connections to London and other towns. It is a short walk/cycle into the small town centre, and the train to London takes about 35 minutes, so it is easy to go there for a day out or an evening.

During our free time we enjoy cycling, swimming, walking, reading, music, tennis etc, and of course meeting up with friends. We sometimes go for days out to London or for weekends away, and love travelling, both in the UK and abroad. We also have dinner or bbqs with friends, or go on family outings and visits. We are expecting to have a new puppy in September!

During term family life is busy, with after school activities such as sport, music, and homework. The childrens' two schools are about a 15/20minute drive away from our house. Our children have/are a lot of fun, but we also place importance on politeness, and they are very well behaved and respectful. They would love it if you would also teach them about your own culture or language!

We would welcome your joining us on visits to areas of interest in London and locally, and an also help you to make contact with other local au pairs/friends. I have lived abroad and understand how important it is initially to make friends and get involved in activities. We are very happy to help in this respect, if we are able, as well as in supporting your English language learning.

We are able to provide references for our family and for what it is like living with us.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, cheerful and energetic, who will help at the busy times of day. We would need to you to help take the children to school and other activities, and also to help with homework, or supervising games, music practice etc.

In return, we offer good pocket money, and a comfortable and attractive place to live, with your own bedroom and bathroom and privacy. We will do our best to hep you settle in as one of the family, meet other young people nearby, and visit interesting areas. There are English courses nearby as well as a variety of other activities to enjoy.

An awareness of safety with children is very important, and hopefully some experience with children of similar ages. We hope to find someone who really enjoys playing with children or introducing them to new activities and ideas. Driving to and from school is needed so regular driving experience is needed. (We would offer lessons in England to get used to driving here.)

We will have a new puppy so it is best if you like dogs!

The hours of work will be from 7-9am and from approx. 3/4pm to 7/8pm, leaving you time during the day to study, attend language school, make friends etc.

We would like our au pair to help in the following ways:
• prepare children's breakfast
• get the children ready for school
• take the children to school and pick them up on some days
• help with after school with homework or music practice
• make & clear up children's dinner
• tidy children's rooms & do children's washing
• help at bathtime/ bedtime

If there is extra time free, we would ask for help with light housework e.g. ironing, vacuum clearning

We would ask for babysitting an average of 2 nights per week, if needed (e.g. one week night, one Fri/Sat)

For us, these are the "usual" tasks of daily life.
