We are Czech-British parents looking for preferably Czech au pair to provide childcare for our baby son (born April 2017) as both of us work full-time.
My name is Lenka and I am 35 years old and I originate from the Czech Republic. I work as a research scientist in Cambridge, developing new treatments for cancer. My husband, Mark, is British and works as a scientific director in the same company. We speak English at home, however we would like our son to learn Czech as well as English from an early age. Therefore we are looking for an au pair who would speak Czech to him. You would have the opportunity to speak and practice your English with us but also have the option to have a chat or ask questions in Czech with me should you need to.
We live in a large family house with a nice garden in a pretty English village in Cambridgeshire, surrounded by countryside, close to the river Ouse and within easy reach of a lovely historical town called St Ives, from which a guided bus journey of 20 minutes will take you into Cambridge.
We need an au pair to start with us in November 2017, when I return back to work, and who would stay with us for at least 6 months but preferably for a year or more. You would mostly be looking after Sebastian at home, playing in the garden with him or taking him for walks. Some days we would like you to take Sebastian to some of the various baby classes nearby and for this you would have access to a car (Skoda Fabia). Consequently you would need a driving license and experience but we could provide you with some driving lessons on UK roads when you arrive if this would make you more comfortable. You can also use this car for your private needs within reason as well.
