Wanted: Au pair to join our family of 3. You don't need to be experienced but have to genuinely love children. Key characteristics we are looking for: flexible, problem-solving, loving, reliable, strong sense of responsibility.
We are a multicultural, multilingual family looking for somebody who loves life! You should genuinely love children and are flexible, reliable, well-organised, tidy, cheerful and culturally interested. You should have good personal hygiene, and you should be sensible! You should be interested in learning about the Scandinavian people, their language and culture, and be willing to share yours with us as well.
Our little boy is nearly 6 years old. He is a happy, active and easy-going chappie who is almost always in a good mood and almost never cries. He goes to daycare five days a week from about 8am to 4pm. Our au pair helps get him ready in the mornings, drops him off at day care, and generally picks him up in the afternoons and is with him through dinner time. Both mum and dad travel from time to time (but never both at the same time), so our au pair sometimes helps with bedtime as well. Our au pair will live in with us and help with all general care of our son – bathing, dressing, meal preparation, entertaining, transporting to/from daycare, accompanying on outings etc. There will also be some light housework for you to do. With our previous au pairs we have taken turns cooking and would like to continue that practice. You will have time to yourself during the day as well as in the evenings. However we do require you to be flexible to fit in with our work schedules because Mum sometimes works overnight and we sometimes travel. You will be working a maximum of 25 hours/week.
You will have time to attend language classes, see friends, exercise, chill-out etc. You will generally have a good bit of the day free while Thor is at daycare.
You will have your own bedroom, free internet access and a bicycle.
Driver's license not essential but is an advantage.
