Au pair needed! We are a family of two architect parents, two small children and a cat. Your main task would be taking care of our daughter (10 months). Our son (almost 3 years old) already goes to kindergarten. We live in a city centre of Tampere.
We have previous experience with aupairing as we already had one with our son for about 9 months, and we were very satisfied with the arrangement and are still in contact with her (if you wish, you can contact our previous au pair from Croatia and discuss with her about living here).
We hope you will become as important to our daughter as our previous aupair became to our son. We live in a city centre of Tampere, third biggest city in Finland, in a nice apartment. Despite it's relatively big size, Tampere is surrounded by two lakes and a beautiful nature which you can reach by foot. You would have your own bedroom and a toilet, but we would love to see you spending time with us also outside your working hours. We don't have a car, but the whole city centre is within walking distance.
Both parents are working but especially Iida is doing flexible hours and can help you at the beginning a lot. Our son is already in kindergarten and taking him there/home is most often taken care by Mikko/Iida but we might need your help sometimes.
We are favoring ecological lifestyle and therefore we use cloth diapers for our daughter Lyyti. They are simple to use and we will help you with those at the beginning. As said, your main task would be taking care of our daughter Lyyti during our working hours 5 days a week. We both work flexible hours but mainly your timetable would be between 9 and 15. Lyyti will be about 10 months old when you arrive, and most important thing is to focus on her and spend time with her; change her diapers, feed her, put to sleep and go out with her daily. We also offer you possibilities to participate in some baby activities which are organised in Tampere during day time; baby music class etc. Your daily tasks won't include house works but occasionally we might need your help on those as well.
Lyyti is in a sensitive age when it comes to learning to speak, so talking to her any language would support her learning. Of course we would be more than happy if you would also learn some Finnish mainly because of Aatos. In addition to your salary we'll offer you a Finnish or Swedish course suitable for your skills and pay you one optional free time hobby course (music, art, sports).
