We are a family of four, living in Long Ditton, Surrey, England.
We have two girls, 13 and 15 who need an Au pair to keep an eye on them before we can get back from work.
We need a companion/ Au Pair for two teenagers. You need to be a friend to them and be interested in their day but also the responsible adult when we are not there.
You would ensure they are back safe from school at the agreed time, cook a simple supper for them and yourself on the evenings when I am not back.
Ensure they are doing homework, or leave for school on time if I have an early start.
In the daytime you would run some errands, like picking up dry cleaning, pet food, groceries. Keep the bathroom and kitchen tidy. Supervise girls cleaning their rooms, put washing on and out. Take the dog for a walk. Keep girls clothes and school uniform together. Put away the online shop, load and unload the dishwasher and clear up kitchen after breakfast. This would be approximately 30 hours a week. We will be paying pocket money of £100 a week. We would like an au pair plus or someone confident who can manage teenagers
We have a cleaner who comes once a week and also does ironing. You would not be expected to clean the whole house, but to keep your room clean and tidy and the bathroom that you use: and do your own washing with the girls washing.
We would prefer a driver if possible to use my car to collect the girls from clubs and friends in the evening. My car would be for your joint use. This would not be sole use, but it is easy to get to many places from our house by public transport.
You would eat with the family either what you cook or what I cook. We are a relaxed household. Father can be away, or can work from home, depending on the film schedule. When not working, I garden and cook and go to the gym. We like a healthy lifestyle and you would need to encourage the girls to follow this to and to be active yourself. The house is large, so it's easy to be private but we would like you to join in as much as possible with the family.
You would have Tuesday and Friday free all day and evening and all weekends free. You would need to be at home Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings when I work late.
You would be welcome to travel with the family in the UK, mainly to see friends and family. You would be welcome to return home at Christmas to see your family or to stay with us. In the school holidays you would supervise the girls a little more and take them on trips to Camden or the South Bank in London, to Brighton and other places.
