Dear Au Pair,
We are an easy-going, fun-loving family in Reading, looking for an Au Pair to look after our one and a half year old son and 10 year old daughter. We are looking for commitment to our children's care and in return we will treat you as a member of our family and make sure you have a wonderful time and get to know everything that Reading and the surrounding area has to offer. Our Au Pair needs to be loving and committed as well as independent and unafraid of new challenges. Reading is just a short train ride from London and situated in the lovely Thames Valley. We are looking for a responsible, child-loving person who will see our children's well-being and development as a core priority. You will of course have plenty of time for yourself as well, and although we may require occasional weekend/evening childcare this will be negotiated beforehand. We are a professional couple with a ten year old daughter and a one and a half year old son. Chris is English and works in finance - Anna is Icelandic and works in marketing. As a family we enjoy bicycle rides along the river, trips to the countryside, picnics and BBQs. Our daughter is an extremely active and creative 10 year old who loves challenges and fun. Our 2 year old son loves cuddles and laughter. We also have two cats named Peter and Princess.
The main thing we are looking for is commitment to providing care for our son and daughter during the hours that we are at work. We want someone who is caring and warm and full of ideas for fun things to do. Must be responsible and able to show initiative. For our 2 year old son we need someone who is patient, loving, and willing to take him on outings and offer plenty of stimulation. For our 10 year old daughter, we need someone who is a good role model and can work around her schedule of after-school activities and play dates. The emphasis is on fun, and the safety and well-being of our children. In terms of housework, we expect our Au Pair to take part as a member of the household in keeping things neat and tidy. In return we offer a loving family environment with encouragement and support for pursuing activities and interests outside the home for personal development, such as sports, clubs, activities etc.
