Introduction of the family offering the au pair / nanny job:
SAFETY WARNING: if you see any contact details below, DO NOT CONTACT THIS FAMILY but
report it to us! It might be a scammer who will ask you for money.
We are a family of four Sophie(3), Arthur(1), my wife Carmen(33) and me(33) living in Vienna.
What do we expect from you? Well first of course we need you to support us with taking care about the kids. When you come as Au Pair you are part of our family of course, beeing part of a family comes with all advantages and responsiblities. You are also here to see country and culture, to work on your language skills and enjoy life, none of that will come too short.
A typical work day could look something like this: In the morning you start around 7 to get the kids ready and to have common breakfast, around 8 we leave the house, depending on how it goes with two kids on the way to Kindergarten, probably you need to come with me to bring them to Kindergarten. Kindergarten starts before 9, after that you are free to plan your own day till around 4 when you pick them again and entertain them mainly, but not always by yourself till 7 or 8pm. That means going to the playground with them, playing with them inside, etc.
So much to the core responsibilities, depending on the day sometimes you need to take care in the evening sometimes not, sometimes there is more for you to do in the weekend sometimes less - expect 40 hours a week of work, though that also means sometimes to just be there in case they need something. The aim is that you like what you do. In terms of housework we expect you to do your share, that means dominently cleaning after the children during your watch, preparing food for them, etc. Laundry, kitchen, hoovering etc is done by all of us. However, you are not here predominantly to support us taking care about he kids.
What can you expect, you ll get paid pocketmoney what is the Austrian usual, you get a room for yourself, all meals, if we go somewhere as family all trips will be paid for you, restaurants etc, there will be an insurance etc.
Beside that hopefully fun, adventure and development in the end that is what you are here for.
In terms of what we are looking for in qualifications is:
- Native Romanian speaker
- Either English or German on a level that I can communicate with you
- A level education
- Good with children
- A responsible and trustworthy person
- Preferable someone who has younger siblings or experience with children
