Thank you for taking the time to read our advert
We are a family of four who are looking for a calm, loving individual a new family member to come and help our family run smoothly
We live to a place called Bix which is two miles outside of Henely-On-Thames. Henley is a beautiful small riverside town which hosts the famous Henley Royal Regatta (rowing competition) every year, followed by the Henley festival
Our nearest big shopping towns/ cities are, Reading, High Wycombe and Oxford
London and Milton Keynes are an hour or less away by train
We are looking for an au pair who is happy to work Monday to Friday plus the occasional evening babysit/ weekend
You will generally have evenings and weekends to yourself and can arrange time off during the week if you wish to take English lessons or would just like an hour or so out to take a stroll
We believe that flexibility and understanding both ways is the key to a happy relationship
You will have your own double bedroom and use of a bathroom away for families to
bathrooms
You will need to have a full clean driving license and be happy driving in the UK
You must also be happy to attend a basic first aid course (paid for by the family)
We will require references and you will need to have good childcare experience
You will be a valued member of the family and as such we know that you will need a break too sometimes so you will be granted paid holiday in line with the length of your stay
Mum and Dad both work
Dad has a business locally and works Monday - Friday. He also has a hobby which can take up his weekends
Mum is a firefighter and works shifts (both days and nights)
Our five year old girl attends school, ten minutes away. She is a chatty little girl with a wonderful imagination
Our two year old boy is just starting to attend pre school a couple of times a week in the mornings, although this will increase. He has a lot of energy and can be quite a handful if not suitably occupied, although he always has a smile on his face
Our daughter loves baking and having a playmate so share her adventures with. Our son is a busy little boy who is developing fast and is very curious about the world around him. This means that he is into (and on top of and through and under) anything that he can get his hands on as and as such, needs careful watching when is is at home
We have two dogs but these have their own room and run so you will not be required to anything with them day to day
We also have horses at home although these belong to other family members and you will not be required to look after them. However you would be very welcome to pet them and feed them the odd apple. This is something the children enjoy doing very much
On days Mum is working you will take the older child to school and the younger child to nursery or to play. Then you will be responsible for the children until either Mum or Dad returns home for the day. You will need to be confident having sole charge of the children
When Mum is home she can be flexible, so you can have free time on some of these days in between the school runs
You will need to be able to prepare basic healthy food as you will share meal preparation with Mum
You will also be required to do basic housekeeping to assist Mum
A car will be provided for au pair duties and may be available for personal use if not required by the family
Our perfect au pair would also be happy to do the very occasional overnight babysit (for additional payment of course) but this is not a requirement.
