Native English Au Pair needed by a family with a 3 years old boy, to look after him during summer holidays in South West of France
We are a french couple, Laurent and me Sandra ; both native french speaker but we can manage in english.
We have a son. His name is Ruben. He is 3 years old and a half. As most of the child, Ruben loves life, he is always smiling and easy to manage most of the time.
We are living in Cognac, small city, on West side of France, approximately 20 000 habitants at 1h30 drive from Bordeaux and 1h00 drive from the sea.
We are looking for someone, an Au Pair, to look after our son for part of the summer holidays.
We want, a native english person, for him to learn english by an enjoyable way.
English learning language in France is inefficient, and for us english is essential.
Ruben doesn't speak english at all, He call only count but does't want to talk with us in english. But at this age, I am sure, he can learn quickly with a native person.
Last year, we spent 3 months in South Africa, and Ruben went 2 days per week in a creche with south african children and he was happy to be there. The language difference was apparently not an issue.
Since he was born, he always watches and listens songs in english. He never watches french cartons at home only english cartons on internet and he loves that. He listens as well english stories (CD with books).
Ideally, we would love, an Au Pair, for 5 weeks from beginning of July to august 7th. Dates are flexibles.
If the person can speak a bit of french, would be nice, but not an obligation.
Then, we want her to awake his curiosity, to develop his skill in english but as well, to bring him to swimming pool, play with him in the garden, to cycle with him, to do rollers, bring him to playground, do different activities with him (drawing, reading, painting...)... and as well just to look after him when he will play on his own.
One day a week, he will go to a day care center to play with other children.
We want the Au Pair to cook as well, sometimes for lunch time.
I have no holidays during the time the Au Pair is a home.
Nevertheless, Laurent will get a lot of days off, then if the person is interested, they could do things all three together (going to the sea,visit the area...).
The Au Pair will work more or less 4 days a week.
Sometimes, we will need her for evenings and week-end to look after Ruben.
We want the Au Pair to be part of the family. If Au Pair, wants to get free time, days on her own for travelling, not an issue.
The Au Pair, will get her own room and bathroom. We live in a house in town with private garden
She will be fed, housed (with clothes washed) and we will pay her 100€/week.
If Au Pair can drive, she can drive our car otherwise, she can take one of ours bikes, or use trains to travel (train station is 7 minutes walking distance from home (in front of Bisquit Chateau))
First week of July, if weather is fine, Ruben should normaly go on the Coast with Laurent's mum on a mobil-home in a camping. A room will be available for the Au Pair. The camping is on the sea side near Royan, with all activities for all ages (pools, bike, aqua gym lessons....) with a lot of people from overseas... good place to do sport or to relax..
Third week of July, Ruben will go to on my family side, at my mum home to spend time with his cousins, uncles, aunts... at 2 hours drive from Cognac more in the South.
A room with bathroom will be available for the Au Pair.
This time, the week will take place in the country side.
If the Au Pair is at ease with the driving, and if interested, we would find a car for her to visit the area as my mum is not for from St Emilion, Bergerac..
When Ruben will be with one of his grandmother, the Au Pair could have a lot of free time if she wants to.
Second and fourth weeks of July + first o August, Au Pair will spend time in Cognac with us.
The children experience is not the most important for us.
The main thing is to be at ease with children, to be ready to spend full days with a little boy and be part of our family.
