Dear Nanny/Aupair
We are a family of 5 (Mum, Dad and 3 kids which are now ages 9, 4 and 2). We currently live in Sittingbourne, Kent, United Kingdom.
Our 9year old son is at boarding school - staying in school Mondays to Fridays. [Returns home Friday night, spends the weekend at home and goes back to school Sunday night].
My 4 year old daughter is currently at nursery 5 days a week 8.30am - 5.30pm and my 2 year old son is now at nursery - 3 days a week [9am -12noon] and at a childmindi
We are a family of 5, my hubby, myself, my 9 year old son, 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son [last son].
1. The job will require 50% Nannying and 50% housekeeping. You will be required to work 6 days a week.
2. Monday to Friday my son is at full time boarding - so nothing required there.
2. Monday to Friday my daughter is at nursery from 8.30am to 5.30pm - so minimal work there too. You need to get her to wake on time in the morning, brush her, bath her, dress her and fix her breakfast. She feeds herself and so you will need to keep an eye to make sure she does not delay her ability to get into nursery on time. You will need to drive and so drop her off at nursery.
3. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, my last son who is 2 years old is at nursery for 3 hours a day. He also attends a childminding playgroup on Thursdays from 9am - 3pm.
This means you will need to know the drop off times and pick up times and be punctual to pick them.
The plan is that you cover housekeeping and ironing when the kids are not at home and increase that coverage as my second son is out of the house 5 days a week.
The other requirement is that you are able to drive. You will be responsible for driving the kids to nursery/school. The driving distance to their nursery is about a 10mins drive in no traffic and to the childminding playgroup is about 15mins. So not stressful at all.
My daughter starts full time school this September 2017 - her preferred school (which I believe she will be granted entry as it is within the catchment is a 5 mins drive from home). So long distance driving is not required or expected.
In terms of driving, you may be required to help with errands here and there as well as taking the kids to their activities and this will be required mostly on Saturdays e.g. taking my daughter for swimming lessons and to ballet class etc.
I hope this helps but if you need more information, I will be willing to provide further details or expound as much as you want.
