Dear future host family.
My name is Luisa Maria Gonzalez, I'm twenty-seven years old; I live in Medellin Colombia. I'm a very creative, friendly, funny, responsible and I'm also a business woman. I think kids are wonderful because they have a great imagination. I like traveling, dancing, learning, sharing. I love animals, learning cultures and spending time with children.
I live with my older sister, her name's Tatiana and she's a business administrator. My parents live in my hometown in Frontino- Antioquia. My mother is a kindergarten teacher; her name is Stella. My father's name is Aicardo, he's a farmer, he lives in a farm in the countryside. I have an adopted brother; his name is Juan David; he lives my hometown with my mother. he's a student, he is eleven years old.
I studied in my hometown, I graduated from high school in 2010, I got an associate degree as a pedagogic technical (technical high school degree with a pedagogic specialization). Besides I could practice teaching to kindergarten children and elementary school children. After I got my technical degree I continued my studies in fashion design in Medellin city while I could experience some projects of brand creation and clothing design some of this projects I had the opportunity to work with children design clothing to them and this experiences where very funny since kids are really ingenious and smart. I finished college in 2015 and I worked for three years in some clothes business enterprises.
I have my own business; I make tailored garments. I started my own brand in 2017 where I made and sold variety of garments like shirts, pajamas, dresses, pants, among other. Moreover, I worked in a tailor shop and as time went by my work got better and now I make clothes for formal occasions to adults and children such as gowns and suits.
In my free time, I like cooking for my family, doing sport such as riding bike; playing basketball, running and swimming. I also like reading books my favorite book is pride and prejudice. Sometimes I travel to my town to visit my parents, I enjoy dancing and listening to music, I would like traveling to different places and know the seasons, since in my country I can only experience dry and rain periods.
When I was about fifteen years old I met my adopted brother. He's the best boy I've ever met. He was two days old, he was so small. since I saw him I loved him. I took care of him, I made his food, I changed his diapers, we share joys like his first steps, his first teeth, his dances, his laughs, among other beautiful experiences.
When I was in high school the last two years I could practice teaching some educational topics to children between five and thirteen years old. The first year of my practices in a kindergarten I told stories. the children painted and draw using watercolors, colors pencil, acrylics paints, etc we sang and dance and enjoyed some typical games such as skip the rope, hid a seek, the broken phone and among other in our free time we did some sports. the second year of my practice I taught in rural school to children between six and fifteen years old. I also made sport volunteering in 2019 where I guide children in activities like running, kicking or scoring the ball, etc. They enjoyed soccer and Basketball a lot, this groups were from about twenty to thirty children between five and twelve years old. I loved this experiences.
On the other hand, I take care of my cousin Salome. She's a pretty girl, she's seven years old, we cook some recipes at home, paint together, watch movies, do hairstyles, talk stories, I help her with her homework, we go to the park and now we're learning to ride roller skates.
I want to be an au pair to share my love and attention with the kids, to spend quality time with them, live together great experiences while we can exchange culture. I love sharing the Colombian culture and traditions, I want to get a lot of knowledge about your culture and create great talks with all family. I also like to travel because I can know different places and make new relationships besides I really want to improved my English since I have a basic level. Actually I am studying during the process of finding host family and I have two classes a week with a teacher, in addition I studied and practice it every day on my own.
I love animals, in my family there is a pet dog called Max. He's an adopted dog, he has needed help because his first masters didn't care of him, he didn't have good food or a place to live in, my sister and I want to give him love and attention he needs. We really love him.
