'Nanny/au pair from Colombia called Mariana. 29 years old. Looking for a job 1 to 6 months with a nice family starting from February or march 2020.
I am Mariana, I am 29 years old and I live in Colombia.
I grew up with my parents and my older sister in Cali, a tropical city with warm weather. As a child I was very close to the pools and water, so I love swimming and being in touch with nature. I studied at the Liceo Francés, a bilingual school that opened the doors to another language, another culture and other ways of seeing the world. I always had an affinity with letters and art, with people, society and the study of other cultures. I did my career in Social Communication with an emphasis in Audiovisuals, and I have been working in the cultural sector of my country for more than three years, with dance, literature and film festivals.
As a child I had the opportunity to travel to several countries and in several seasons of my life I have made trips alone or with my partner, always in the company of my camera. I think I have had the best experiences of my life in those adventures, when I jump out of my comfort zone, to discover new landscapes. I lived 6 months in Brazil, and for the last two years I have been going to Mexico for different seasons, to dive, tour and discover its culture.
I live with my partner and a dog in Cali, I have been living in this city for more than 6 years and I feel that it is time to change the landscape, open myself to the world and live opportunities in other countries. I think at my age it is a good time to do it. I have always wanted to learn new languages, or have an intercultural experience. In that sense, I think being an Au Pair is a good way to do it, because on the one hand it offers stability and a company when it comes to reaching a new city, and at the same time it allows you to know the culture from a nearby place, from everyday life and ways of life. Sharing time with children for me is more than a job, because it is something I enjoy, because it requires you to be responsible, creative, loving and at the same time be very attentive to everything you learn from them.
I think that because of the sensitivity I have with art and adventure, I find creative ways to address them, teach them, share them and make learning dynamics. For that reason I consider that they should stay, because it will undoubtedly be an experience that meets their expectations and those that I have with this trip. I believe that I have the capacity to adapt, to generate a good work environment and to avoid conflict. I think it is always possible to arrive through dialogue and respect for agreements. I will have many things to share with you from my country and I will be willing to receive everything you want to share with me.
