Au Pair from Kazakhstan, Diana 21, already in the country, looking for a family for extension
Dear Family,
My name is Diana and I'm 21 years old. I'm already in the country finishing my first year of Au Pair program with my current host family in the beginning of September and I'd like to extend for another year, so I'm looking for a new family for around that time. I take care of 2 kids in my current host family. They are amazing, my oldest kid Ayrton is 8 years old and he's friendly, active and clever boy, this guy rides the motorcycle and he's really good at it. My youngest kid Aly is almost 2 years old and she's very funny. She just started to talk and that's really cute how she's trying to repeat the words after us. Ayrton and Aly are get along with each other very well. They play together and Ayrton teaches Aly something new and how this or that thing works.
In my home country kids were always around me. I grew up with 2 brothers, we were home alone very often. When I was 10 my cousin was born and my aunt and uncle let me take care of him and when he gots a bit older I was watching him sometimes. I'd say since that I was always around kids since my family has a lot of cousins and later family's friends asked me to do babysitting with theirs kids different ages - from 3 month baby (I was 19 years old, not 10 years) to 14 years old.
I like to cook. At 11 I started to get involved in cooking. It was some cakes, cupcakes candies and stuff like that and then it became in something bigger and I started to cook main dishes. I also used to drew a lot. I got to a design college without taking any draw classes. When I was little I used to take dance, swim, math, Russian and English classes though. At around 18 I took manicure classes and was working at home at first and then in the beauty salon. And when I was 20 I got to know about Au Pair program and decided to join it.
There's some reasons why I'd like to extend with a new family:
- I'd like to speak English more, because I want to improve my English, that was my goal from the beginning. And since my current host family speaks Russian and I have to speak Russian with kids, I feel like my English is getting worse.
- Driving experience, I want to drive a car it's important to me because I wouldn't want to lose this skill. And I don't drive in this family. I have a driver's license, I used to drive in my home country a lot every day and here since I had my home country's driver's licenses work for 6 month after I arrived to America. I have my driver's license for 4 years now but in my home country I used to drive everywhere and every day: to school, college, work, just to hang out with my friends or family. By streets, Highways, in mountains by off ways (not sure if I said that right but ask me I can describe that) so yea I don't really remember any days I didn't drive at home. And in US I've been driving in Washington DC and Virginia. In my first host family (I mean if you have any questions about my previous Au Pair experience, feel free to ask anything) I had to drive the kids to the fencing by highway and city streets. The way usually took about an hour or so, each way. Also I used to drove one of my host kid to piano lessons and that way took about 20 min each way. And another host kids to ballet the way took about 30-40 min, again each way. I drove to the store every day here in America so I would say I'm a comfortable with it and with kids in the car as well. The youngest kid I've been driving with in the car was 3 month baby by off way.
- And also I'd like it very much if my new family will be able to give me either Saturday or Sunday as a full day of every week. It's kinda important too because for now I have Tuesday as a day off and to tell the true it's not exciting at all since most of my friends have free day on the weekends and I always go out alone and that is not that experience that I want to get here. And the reason why I want it is simply because I'm just a human and I wanna go out with friends sometimes and Tuesday doesn't work for me. To tell the true it bothers me because I feel lonely hanging out by myself on every my free day as long as nobody has a day off during the week. I'm used to have people around me - friends, family and I don't like to be alone. I mean I made friends here but it's a bit hard to go out with them.
Unfortunately I can't get that in this family so that's why I'm looking for a new family even though I'd really like to extend with my current host family.
Let me know if you have any questions I'll be more than happy to answer them.
Best regards.
Diana
