Au pair from Indonesia called Diana, 22, looking for a job with a nice and warm family, starting from 1 July.
My full name is Umi Imroatun, everyone calls me Diana/Nurdiana. I am a 22-year-old (female) from Lampung, Indonesia; one of the provinces in Sumatra Island, Indonesia. I am a recent graduate of Geophysical Engineering at the University of Lampung and currently active in some youth organization in my town.
My family consists of 5 people: my mother, my father, my sister, my brother and me. My sister's name is Azzahra, she's 2 years old and my brother is Hafiz, 11 years old. My father is a teacher, he teaches in a senior high school and my mother is an entrepreneur. As the oldest in family, I am also helping my parents to take care of my little sister and walk my little brother to school in the morning and pick him back home in the afternoon. As a sibling, sometimes we argue, usually with my little brother as he's the only son but usually, we all get on well and we help each other. My little sister is an energetic kid, she loves to sing, drawing and go to outdoor activities. I usually go to the playing ground with my little sister near my house and spend an outdoor activity with her, such as feeding the animal, go to the rice field to just see the bird and much more. Besides, I had a social project as a student study service in one of the remote areas in my province, Bayas Jaya Village, Pesawaran. I was also teaching in elementary school for 40 days over there and I have a wonderful relationship with them: not only with the students but also the society. My family supports my choice of being an au pair in the and they think this would be a great experience and a way for me to be independent.
My first language is, of course, Bahasa Indonesia, and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school and I have basic knowledge about Japanese and Arabic as I learned those in high school. I love to learn new things, especially languages. I am nevertheless aware that learning a language within a classroom context is by itself, incomplete. So, in order to really be at ease in either Spanish or English, I feel that a cultural immersion would do me a lot of good.
When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks, visiting places I have not been to, and reading a good book. I also enjoy painting and on dull or rainy days. I have some pets at home, six cats, a turtle, and a marmot. I always take care of them and sometimes playing together with my sister and brother.
