AuPair from Bergamo, Italy. Currently in Houston, TX and taking care of two girls (3 and 5).
I am 21, strong driver and really good swimmer. I will be available from the end of June 2019.
Hello family,
I'm Beatrice and soon I'll come to you! We will share one year of our life and that's why I want to introduce myself and tell you something about me: I'm 21 y.o. and I just finished the high school (Tourist Technical Institut) , I live in Bergamo near Milan with my mom Monica,my father Giovanni, they are employed in private companies, my twin Federico, a boy a bit crazy, lover of downhill and then my wonderful Leo! Who is Leo? A fantastic puppy I love and with whom I spend a lot of time.
Last year I had to decide what to do about my future: to go on studying or go to work. Meanwhile I became acquainted with this program as an “ au pair” in the US.
I have found this opportunity very interesting because it includes what I love doing: taking care of children, visiting new places and getting to know people with a different culture from mine, improving my language skills. I'm sure it's important also for the growth of my personality.
But are you curious to know what I like about children?
Of them I like spontaneity, sincerity, their thousand "why" at which sometimes it is difficult to give simple explanations so that they are understandable. I like to play with kids and stimulate their fantasy with drawing, bricolage, tell stories and find a happy end together. Imagine being princesses or superheroes, inventing new worlds and new spaces. It is wonderful to have a relationship of "complicity" with the children by giving them small transgressions. I think through the game we can convey to children the values we believe in.
Sharing values and educational object between parents and people who are direct contact with children is fundamental to children's growth. Being able to listen and pay attention to their requests is important to satisfy their needs.
Now that I am an adult person I thank my parents for having raised me this way. Respect, sincerity, honesty, I think I am able to enter into a different family context and to create new affective relationships.
I started taking care of children in June 2015 in the summer ricreation center organized by the parish with the role of animator. This commitment lasted four weeks, every day, nine hours a day. In order to carry out this task I attended a training course and afterwards meetings with the head of the center, coordinators and other girls and boys to organize the activities we would have with the children.
As a child I attended the summer center and the caretakers took care of me, now I was supposed to take care of children.
I took care of a group of children from 6 to 7 y.o. during mountain excursions, amusement parks, in the swimming pool or in activities within the center such as manual labs , group games and help homework, assistance during meals.
It was a positive experience, very demanding in all respects, but it gave me greater awareness of my skills and attitudes and I repeated it the following year.
I am a very sweet and patient girl and I had various experiences as baby-sitter with children from 2 to 6 y.o.
Being my family pretty large, I often deal with my cousins Allegra, a nice 4 y.o. child, Achille and Elia, two small boys 5 y.o. and 3 y.o.. We build objects with recycled materials (boxes, plastic bottles, etc.), we go biking, we read tales, and when the weather is nice enough, we go to the swimming pool to have fun.
I take care of them even in the evenings, cooking simple dishes, a bath and then all to sleep!
With the prospect of participating in the "Au Pair" program when I finished school last July, I worked as a baby sitter at a family with two children of the age of five and seven.
I took care these kids for four months, three days a week, according to the needs of their parents. Depending on the day I prepared for the children breakfast, lunch or dinner, I
cooking simple dishes of Italian cuisine and then playing, playing and playing as with my cousins.
