Au-Pair from Germany called Delia,18, loving to take care of kids, looking for a job, starting in July/August 2019

Dear future host family,

My name is Delia; I'm 18 years old and from Germany. I am currently a student, however I will graduate high school in March. I want to start my Au-pair time at the beginning of August 2019, by then I will be 19 years old. I have had my license since 2017 and feel very comfortable driving. I am a nonsmoker.


My parents and I live in Koblenz, a city that has around 100.000 inhabitants. We have a dog, whose name is Luna, whom I like to walk in my freetime. My two older brothers, Simon and David, are both studying and, unfortunately, I don't see them very often. I always enjoyed having siblings and hope I can give this feeling to the future kid(s) I'm nannying.

When I was 14, I lived in England for four months, and later participated in a threeweek exchange to the United States. Because of these experiences I think I can easily communicate in English. I cannot speak it perfectly, however, and I love to practise speaking and to improve my skills as much as I can. In addition to English, I started learning Spanish and Italian but cannot speak them as fluently as English. I spent the last eight weeks with a student exchange program in Argentina. I really enjoyed improving my spanish and getting to know so many new people. In all three of these places I lived in host families, where I was able to experience the local cultures. My time abroad taught me to be more confident, independent, and to live in a foreign country.

Outside of school, I love going to the gym and enjoy swimming, which I think will be useful in Australia. During my holidays, I love to travel and, of course, would like to explore different parts of Australia as well.

My main reason for being in Australia, however, is to be with your family; to be a playmate, protector and, maybe one day, like a big sister to your children.
I took part in a babysitting course, where I earned a license. There I not only learned how to change diapers, but also how to keep kids occupied, their habits at different ages, and much more. After school I take care of a toddler, a few times a week, and from this I have learned how to look after children.

I have always loved taking care of children, learning new language, and establishing contacts in foreign countries and cultures. This is why I would love to spend six months as an Au-pair in Australia.
I have always been fascinated by Australia's culture and people and really look forward to getting to know a lovely family.
