Diana, 20 years old from germany looking for an au pair job searching a host family in florida, starting from 15july

Dear host family,
first of all I'm so thankful that you take time to read my letter and get to know me better.

I'm from Germany and I live in a small Town 'Rodalben', in Rhineland-Palatinate. The great thing about my hometown is the Palatinate forest. From my home I just need 3 minutes to walk, and I'm in the forest. We are also very close to the border with France is just 15 minutes to drive.

I live with my mother and my cat in a small House with a beautiful garden. My brother lives only on weekends and in the holidays with us, because he studied in another city named worms which is 100 km away from us. They are all supporting my idea of flying to the USA and they are always very helpful which I appreciate a lot.

Let me tell you some more about myself.
In July next year I will finsh school with my A-levels. After the Au pair year I would like to go to University. I like singing, even though I'm not a very good singer. Dancing is also one of my passions, I even went to ballett class but due to problems with my knees, I can't do this anymore. I also like meeting friends. I spend a lot of time with them. We go to the cinema, to the bowling center or we go camping for example. My boyfriend and me like traveling together. But at the moment we don't see each other very often as he is studying in Fort Myers management since 1 year.We see each other just in holidays. My boyfriend and my friends support me a lot of becoming an au pair in the US.

Now let me answer the question of questions. Why do I want to become an Au Pair ?
I love to be with children, because they emit so much joy of live and because they are very honest. I love their smile when they are happy and when they show you that they like you. I love spending time with them and see them growing up.I already did an internship in the kindergarten. Also, I've collected over 500 hours of children experience with a child of the best friend of my mother named Emily. I usually take care of her 6 times a month about 4-5 hours. 2 years ago was the first time who I took care of her.The most beautiful moment was when she told me I was like a sister for her.In the whole time I have learned that dealing with children is not always easy. Nevertheless, my greatest desire is to go as an Au pair in the US.

Why would I like to be an Au pair in the U.S. ?
I would like to be in the U.S. because I was in Florida already and I am totally inspired by the country. I hope to improve my English skills in the year and that I still get to know the country better, I would also really like to know how you spend Christmas or Thanksgiving in the US because I only heard positive things about.

I will be a good Au pair, because I would describe myself as a very reliable,flexible, open- and warmhearted, friendly and trustworthy person. I am also very adaptable and I like to meet new people. Domestic work is not a problem for me at all because I often help my mother at home.I hope we will spend a great year with each other and I'm looking forward to talking to you.
